THE ROLE: Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Building Maintenance Technician’s primary responsibilities include the following functions in accordance with Legends & ASM Global policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities + Performs a variety of skilled building maintenance and repair task including but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, painting, plaster and drywall repairs, floor patching and repairs, door and window repairs. + Inspects and tests all systems throughout facility to detect malfunctions or breakdowns; diagnose cause and locate the source of the problem. + Performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs on ASM’s equipment, fixtures, and machinery for the safe and continuous operation of the facility. + Respond to routine precautionary and emergency alarms from building automation and life safety systems. + Operate equipment such as light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, access lifts, or other light power-driven equipment. + Works safely, follows and adheres to all safety/maintenance precautions, policies and procedures, ensures adherence to OSHA, NFPA and other applicable safety codes. + Complete assigned written work orders in a timely fashion; completes follow up documentation for written work orders. + Ensuring proper delivery of event-related utility services and assist with special event coverage as needed. + All other duties that may be assigned. Education and/or Experience + High School Diploma/GED preferred. + Two years prior experience required. Skills and Abilities + Know general techniques in painting, plumbing, carpentry, and building hardware maintenance and electrical/lighting systems. + Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures of the construction industry. + Follow all policies/procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules, regulations, and emergency procedures established at the facility. + Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others encountered in the course of employment. + Ability to understand and follow simple directions communicated both orally and in writing. + Ability to take directions from multiple supervisory and management staff. + Ability to use hand and power tools and equipment common to the construction trade. + Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. + Ability to work independently, exercising judgement and initiative. + Work in a fast-paced environment. + Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
