Building Maintenance Technician Level 1

Location: Frisco, Colorado

Job Title: Building Maintenance Technician Level 1

Job Status: Year Round Full Time

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $19.50 to $21.50+, actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.

Job Summary:

Provide basic corrective and preventative maintenance on all CMR exterior and interior structures and systems. Includes basic plumbing repairs, HVAC filter changes and thermostat troubleshooting, door and window repair or install, painting, drywall repair, commercial appliance troubleshooting and repair, and lock repairs. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

General maintenance on Copper-owned buildings and equipment; interiors and exteriors, including drywall, tile, door, window, and lock repair. 

Corrective and preventative maintenance of plumbing systems, HVAC, and commercial restaurant equipment. 

Provide a high level of guest service in interactions with visitors to the resort. 

Administration Duties: 

Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records, i.e., parts billing, labor billing, inventory management, preventative maintenance records, and equipment records.

Basic Requirements:

Must be flexible to working days and hours, especially ramp up/down and busy occupancy periods. 

Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs. 

Must be able to distinguish colors. 

Must be able to work in all types of conditions: Crawl spaces, cold or hot areas, inside and outside. Must be able to work in small, hard to reach places. Must be able to work on or around roof areas of buildings 

Must be able to work well with others, be a team player, and be willing to learn more advanced skills in Building Maintenance 

Must keep accurate records and be able to communicate properly with vendors and sub-contractors. 

Due to the sensitive nature of this position, a criminal background check will be conducted after position is accepted. This background check will be done in accordance with standards enacted under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. 

Must have a valid US Driver’s license. 

Preferred Experience and Special Skills:

Formal Education, High school graduate or equivalent  

1+ year of basic experience in the maintenance field. Willing to train the right candidate. 

Problem solver with a Can-do attitude. 

Self – motivated 

Ability to properly assess problems and provide solutions 

General maintenance work, including: basic electrical, basic plumbing, and other general maintenance as needed or directed by the Building Maintenance Manager.  

Use of many types of hand and power tools: drills/drivers, routers, electrical meter, planer, jointer, power saws, auger/snake, jetter, and other tools and equipment associated with repairing building systems 

Comfortable with computers and smart devices. Must be computer literate with Microsoft Outlook and be able to learn other job-related computer systems 

Maintain a safe work area at all times.  

Basic skills in the following categories: 

Plumbing: basic repair, water shutoff 

Electrical: 110v, lighting 

Refrigeration: basic cycles, temperature/pressure gauges 

HVAC: filters, ducts, thermostats 

Carpentry: door repair/install, window repair/install, trim repair, painting/staining 

Locksmith: new install, copy key, punch key 

Appliance: troubleshooting, basic repair 

Painting/Drywall: surface prep, application, cutting, stain 

Flooring: carpet tile 

General: resort knowledge
