About the Role: As a Building Operating Engineer at JLL, you will be responsible for performing an intermediate level of repairs, maintenance, and improvements on facility Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), and related systems. You'll work in a dynamic environment, ensuring our facilities meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and energy efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate, maintain, and repair building mechanical systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systemsPerform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot issues across various building systemsRespond to tenant requests and emergency situations promptly and professionallyEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to building operationsImplement energy management and sustainability initiativesMaintain accurate logs and records of all maintenance activities and equipment performanceCollaborate with property management teams to support overall building objectivesParticipate in ongoing training to stay current with industry best practices and technological advancements

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred2-3 years of building operating engineer experience, preferably in healthcare facilitiesStrong knowledge of building automation systems, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systemsFamiliarity with energy management practices and sustainability principlesProficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independentlyStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on-call rotations as needed

Required Licenses and Certifications:

Valid Washington State driver's licenseUniversal CFC cardCity of Seattle Refrigeration Operator licenseElectrical 07 License (If the employee has the required hours, they will have one year to obtain the license. If they don't have the hours, they will have one year from the date they acquire enough hours to test for the license, to obtain the license.)City of Seattle Grade 3 Boiler license (required in certain locations)

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbsComfortable working at heights and in confined spacesCapable of standing, walking, and climbing for extended periods

Estimated total compensation for this position:

8,960,640.00 – 89,606.40 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
