Your work environment at EXP


EXP is currently looking for an Building Science Technician to join our Building Engineering  Team in the Ottawa office.  The successful applicant will provide appropriate technical services to Project Managers for those projects to which they have been assigned.

What a day at EXP has in store for you


The incumbent will perform the field review and testing of building envelope components during building construction as well as reviewing and testing existing building components including windows, cladding and roofs.  Projects may also include building condition assessments such as Reserve Fund Studies.

 What your experience looks like

•Minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience in the Building Engineering industry
•Diploma in a related field of study such as Building Science or Civil Engineering
•Experience with windows, roofing, waterproofing, walls and other building envelope inspections is an asset
•Experience with building condition reviews and reserve fund study analysis is an asset
•Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
•A motivated, self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
•Strong organizational and time management skills as well as attention to detail
•A valid driver’s license with own vehicle and travel throughout Southwestern Ontario is required
•Be willing to work at heights from elevated platforms 
•Knowledge of building evaluation, design, and construction
•Knowledge of Microsoft Office
