Job Description: Job Title: Lead Production Worker Location: Hy-Vee Specialty Foods Warehouse (Bulk Processing Center) FLSA: Non-Exempt General Function: Responsible to ensure the packaging of quality products in a safe and efficient manner. The Lead Production Worker, on occasion, applies general production knowledge and supervisory skills in overseeing the shift operations and workforce. Working Relationships: Accountable and Reports to (Job Title): Group Vice President, Specialty Foods Warehouse Manager of Compliance and Food Protection, Specialty Foods Warehouse Bulk-Processing Supervisor Positions that Report to you (Job Title): None Primary Responsibilities and Duties: + Reports to work when scheduled and on time. + Adheres to company policies and departmental guidelines. + Follows and maintains the bulk processing procedure while practicing HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practices at all times. + Follows production list provided by supervisor. + Must be willing to work in all areas of production including measuring, scooping, lifting, and pouring various products. + Assists supervisor with administration and development of training and communication programs. + Assists supervisor with the organization of general production paperwork, assigning tasks, and supporting employees. + Required to assist in set up and clean up responsibilities. + Attends departmental and company meetings. Secondary Responsibilities: Must be physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force repeatedly; exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Other duties as assigned by management. Education/Experience Required to Perform Job: High school education or equivalent. 1-2 years of production experience. Physical Requirements: + Visual requirements include clarity of vision at distance of less than 20 inches and up to 20 feet or more with or without correction, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision. + Must be physically able to perform medium work: occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 50 pounds + Must be able to perform the following physical activities: standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions Working Conditions: + The duties of this position are performed mostly in the production area, which is a dry climate-controlled environment. + Works in an environment where you may be exposed to food allergens, such as but not limited to milk, egg, peanut, tree nut, soy, and wheat. + Ability to climb, bend, lift and work in areas of limited mobility. Contacts: Has daily contact with employees and occasional contact with maintenance technicians, suppliers and/or vendors. Has occasional contact with federal or state regulatory agencies regarding inspections.
