How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The Bulk Gas Sales Specialist will manage the sales and marketing functions for bulk gases and related equipment. You will be responsible for developing and executing regional, company specific, bulk gas marketing plans and being a support resource. The main duties are to target bulk gas customers and to promote Airgas product offerings to customers and prospects. As well as planning and implementation of bulk gas sales training to inside and outside sales associates.

Develop relationships with potential new customers to increase the sales of bulk gases for a regional company.

Maintain awareness of needs of existing customers to support growth and cross-selling with district teams.

Prepare customer proposals including financial metrics that meet internal success requirements.

Promotes specific "niche" products to regional specialists, sales associates and end user customers.

Provides input to the development of strategic bulk gas marketing plans for a regional company. Reviews regional bulk gas sales goals and monitors progress monthly.

Plans and implements bulk gas product training for regional companies. Acts as a technical resource for regional company sales personnel in the area of bulk gases.

Identifies and develops strategic alliances with group purchasing organizations in order to leverage Airgas' distribution capability as required.

Documents and coordinates the distribution of competitive market activity to both management and other outside sales personnel.

Reviews monthly bulk gas sales and gross profit by product and by territory within a regional company in order to monitor effectiveness of the sales and marketing efforts.

Identifies and coordinates participation at trade association meetings to promote Airgas.

Provides input when requested to enhance and develop literature and sales presentation materials to support the sales effort.

Maintains and improves selling skills and technical product knowledge

Special projects and other duties as required.

Required Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing or related degree required. In lieu of degree, consideration for up to 5+ years of additional relevant experience may be accepted.

Demonstrated track record of achieving profitable sales growth 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Intermediate knowledge of Google applications and Microsoft Office applications

Excellent oral and written communication skills. Communication skills that ensure a smooth flow of information between self and others through clear speaking and writing, encouragement of open expression of ideas, and effective listening. 

Able to effectively present information and to be able to respond to questions from groups in a business setting.

Self-starter; self-motivated; well organized; ability to work independently and in a multi-team environment with different personalities and backgrounds 

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and be detail-oriented with good organizational skills 

Possess conceptual understanding of industrial and medical gas equipment, production, distribution applications and equipment 

Able to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and/or government regulations. Possesses knowledge and understanding of NFPA, CGA, and other applicable codes and standards 

Team player with positive attitude, strong collaborative skills; ability to influence without having direct authority. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Frequent travel within assigned territory

Moderate overnight travel. 

Reliable transportation, current driver’s license, minimum liability insurance as required by state of vehicle registration.
