2102 Delavan Drive, West Des Moines, Iowa WDMCS is seeking school bus drivers to join our team for the 2023-24 school year. These full-time positions work a minimum of 6 hours per day during the school year (6am-9am, 2pm-5pm). There are many opportunities for additional hours! ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS + Provide transportation in accordance with District policy and procedure as well as local, state and federal laws and regulations. + Follow designated routes accurately, in accordance with time schedules and stops. + Conduct safe and orderly loading and unloading of students. + Maintain order and discipline on the school bus at all times. + Perform routine operator maintenance to including but not limited to: pre/post inspections, sweeping interior, wiping upholstery, cleaning windshields, reporting equipment defects and presenting bus for maintenance. + Participate in all training pertaining to the job. + Report all accidents immediately to the Transportation Supervisor or designee. + Complete and submit daily mileage, student conduct/incident or other reports and documentation as required. + Keep and handle all student information in a confidential manner. + Maintain route books, keep organized with current information. + Operate a school bus or other district vehicles safely at all times. + Participate in all required drug and alcohol testing. + Reliable attendance and punctuality. + Operate vehicles during inclement weather. + Complete all safety training as required. + Perform other duties as assigned.
