POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision the Vehicle Operator Specialist- Bus Driver, Workforce Inclusion safely and effectively operates passenger vehicles to transport and assist people with disabilities to and from destinations. Employees in this job class operate multi-passenger vehicles, perform vehicle inspections, and maintain accurate and legible records and logs. This job class requires the ability to safely operate a passenger vehicle, navigate to various locations, and maintain related records.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
1. *Operate multi-passenger vehicle to safely transport individuals with disabilities to job sites and other destinations.2. *Assist passengers with entering and exiting the vehicle including securing wheelchair(s).3. *Perform vehicle inspections and report any mechanical problems prior to departure.4. *Communicate with dispatch personnel.5. *Maintain accurate and legible records and logs as required.6. Performs duties and special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
•Must be at least 18 years of age.•Meet driving qualifications as defined by PRIDE Industries.•Ability to operate passenger vehicle in accordance with a schedule.•Ability to communicate effectively including listening, verbal, and written.•Demonstrate ability to apply critical thinking to identify solutions to problems.•Demonstrate basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.•Ability to manage competing priorities and exercise flexibility.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED
CERTIFICATES REQUIRED:
The following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements:
CPR/First Aid
Valid CDL w/PAX ED
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance: •Bending, stooping, reaching to maneuver passengers’ wheelchairs into safety restraints•Lifting, pushing and pulling up to 35 pounds•Entering and exiting the vehicle
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Most work is performed outdoors and, in a vehicle while driving. Frequently operating a passenger vehicle in a variety of traffic and weather conditions. This position requires non-traditional hours and/or split shifts.
