Bus Monitor JobID: 2231 Position Type: Transportation/ Bus Monitor + Date Posted: 7/16/2025 + Location: Transportation Department + Closing Date: ongoing Job Description Title: School Bus Monitor - CONTINUOUS RECRITMENT Qualifications: + Effective communication and problem solving skills. + Ability to problem solve in a fast paced work environment + Ability to work collaboratively in an educational setting. + Regular and predictable attendance + Qualified to be employed as a School Bus Monitor per Civil Service and NYS Education Department guidelines. + Ability to lift and assist students as needed Responsibilities Shall include but are not limited to the following: + Attend meetings as needed + Follow directives (written, oral, electronic) + General Bus Monitor assignments + Assists in transporting pupils safely to and from school daily + Maintains proper student behavior on bus + Assists Bus Drivers in loading, transporting, and unloading handicapped children + Guides children safely across streets and intersections + May render elementary first aid treatment + Other assigned duties and/or responsibilities which may be deemed appropriate by the supervisor. + Maintain Data Security as applicable. + Maintain confidentiality with staff, student, and family information + Operate in a respectful, responsible manner Reports to: Director of Transportation Salary: As per the contract between Victor Central Schools and the CSEA Unit Bus Monitor Starting Rater: $16.00/hour (Negotiable based on experience)
