Business Advisory Practice Director - Resilience Water

Role Description:

Arcadis is seeking an accomplished Business Advisory Practice Director to support our Resilience Water Business Area (BA) in the United States. This full-time position reports to the Resilience Water Business Area Director (BAD) and oversees Business Advisory Practice Leads across the United States. 

In this role, you will drive the growth of our Resilience Water Business Advisory Practice by strengthening our market position and enhancing our value proposition. You will collaborate with national and regional leaders to develop business development strategies and improve delivery capabilities for Business Advisory projects and programs. This role includes close partnership with Practice Leaders, Solution Leaders, the Growth Director, and the Global Business Advisory team. 

This role will collaborate with the business unit leaders to support the profitability of the Business Advisory Practice. Key service areas include Strategic Consulting, Asset Management, Sustainability Advisory, Digital Advisory, Financial Advisory, and Transformational Advisory Services.

Role Accountabilities:

Develop and implement a Business Advisory strategy aligned with the Resilience Water and the broader Arcadis 2024 – 2026 strategies. Act as the primary point of contact for Resilience Water with the global Business Advisory team, ensuring alignment and sharing best practices. Foster the development of a Business Advisory community of experts to connect best practices across the business. Identify gaps in Business Advisory capabilities and develop strategies to address them, including training, recruiting, and geographic alignment of staff. Lead proposal strategy, preparation, and presentations, mentor junior staff, and advocate for Resilience Water’s perspectives within the broader global Business Advisory Practice.

Shared Responsibilities:

This role emphasizes collaboration within a matrix organization, working with the other Practice Directors, Business Unit Leaders, Operations Director, and BA Sales Director to foster a unified team culture. You will partner with Business Unit Directors and Strategic People Business Partners to enhance organizational health by advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, employee satisfaction, and retention.

You will also support Business Unit Leaders in onboarding new hires, building high-performing teams, and identifying growth opportunities for staff. 

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Management Consulting, Environmental Science, or a related field 15 years of experience in the water industry, with a focus on resilience planning and infrastructure

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in a relevant field Extensive business development and client management experience with proven success in fostering growth Excellent leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to inspire and motivate others Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal Comprehensive understanding of water resilience principles, regulations, and best practices. Professional certifications such as PE or PMP are highly desirable

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
