Business Analyst

As a Business Analyst at Willis Towers Watson, you will be part of a highly collaborative scrum team with members on two continents. This is an integral role in product development by ensuring the organization’s needs are articulated in the user story and acceptance criteria consumed by the Agile Scrum Team. In this role you will practice fundamentals of requirements gathering, system conceptual design, and scope definition. You will be responsible for facilitating the shared understanding of business processes and articulating this in user scenario driven user stories. You will be assisting the Product Owner by defining and writing the acceptance criteria for the user stories included in the backlog and facilitating backlog refinement sessions with your scrum team.

Additionally, you will assist in conducting functional and usability testing to ensure that the Agile Scrum Team’s deliverable meet the business requirements and needs.This role works with Willis Towers Watson’s proprietary and/or industry-leading systems and applications and ensures that these are designed and built according to agreed-upon technical specifications and quality standards.

The successful candidate must be someone who has attention to detail as well as sees the “bigger picture.”  Communication and collaboration are key to day-to-day support activities for product refinement, development, testing, and implementation.

The Requirements

3-5 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst in the realm of software/product developmentExperienced in Agile Scrum development and ways of workingWillingness to solve problems by being inquisitive and curious. Strong critical thinking, attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential.Ability to work remotely and virtually with stakeholders, while maintaining clear communications and meeting work expectations.Knowledge and passion in evaluating, testing, and recommending new opportunities for enhancing our software, hardware, and IT processes.Solid written and verbal communication skills.Contribute to and maintain product backlog and roadmap that reflects correct prioritization and as necessary, be able to decompose items into consumable stories for the scrum teamParticipates in stakeholder meetings and understands user and business needs driving technologyExperience in the Human Resource domain is preferred, but not requiredRelevant experience working with Web Content Management System and ApplicationsFamiliarity with enterprise solutions, microservices, and database conceptsFamiliarity with non-functional requirements Liaises with internal and external clients for the analysis and definition of the business and system requirements, recommends solution together with the scrum team.Participates in scrum team discussions to explain the business requirements and functional specifications to developers and testers and support them in the overall development and testing until the product release.Leads backlog refinement calls, supports sprint planning, release planning, sprint reviews or demos, and actively participates in other Scrum ceremonies.Self-organizes and applies cross-functional competencies to create high-value products.Experience with either documenting requirements for ground-up solutions or existing software system enhancements
