The Consultant shall liaison between the Office of The Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) and the Agency ISO to promote security compliance of the OCME applications, Analyze the Applications and Document them appropriately.

 

Specific task(s):

• Work directly with OCME office along with direction provided by the agency ISO to document the gaps present in the current systems (VMEDS and NVDRS) in order to comply with VDH’s information security standards and the commonwealth’s information security standard (sec 501).

 

• Document the OCME business processes in relation to the VMEDS and NVDRS systems.

 

• Document the system configuration, application and security elements for the VMEDS and NVDRS systems.

 

• Document microsoft sql server database management policies and procedures.

 

• Work with the agency ISO and OCME to produce important documentation to cover the various components of the security program  - risk management, it contingency planning, systems security, logical access control, data protection, facilities security, personnel security, threat management, and it asset management. Examples of the documents needed include a business impact analysis, risk assessment, disaster recovery plan etc.

 

• Based on the analysis, shall recommend best practices to address the current and future program needs including roles/responsibilities, system management tools, security features and system audit programs to support the OCME mission.

 

Skills:

SYSTEMS ANALYSIS, BUSINESS REQUIREMENT GATHERING USING INTERVIEWS, MEETINGS, BUSINESS PROCESS ANALYSIS, BUSINESS PROCESS MODELING AND GAP ANALYSIS.

STRONG EXPERIENCE WITH MS OFFICE PRODUCTS (WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT ETC.)

GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF DATABASES AND SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE

EXPERIENCE WITH APPLICATIONS USING MICROSOFT SQL SERVER

EXPERIENCE DEVELOPING BUSINESS PROCESS DOCUMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH TECHNICAL SYSTEMS

POSSESS BASIC TECHNICAL SKILLS TO QUERY THE DATABASES, AND ANALYZE AND APPROPRIATELY DOCUMENT THE DATABASES.

EXPERIENCE IN REQUIREMENT ANALYSIS, DOCUMENTATION AND TRANSLATING BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS INTO FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
