What You Will Do:

We are seeking a Business Analyst for a major government IT modernization program. This high performing team member will help clients use various technology offerings and/or industry specific solutions to solve our client’s business problems in the areas of finance, operations, human capital, customer, and governance, risk and compliance. Business analyst will manage day-to-day operations, provide functional expertise, and translate business requirements and needs to the program team.

This is a high-visibility, demanding project. The project team is highly collaborative, agile, and fast-paced.  The large project team is made up of experienced, dedicated, hard-working, fun-loving professionals who are respectful, supportive, and appreciative of each other. 

Our Business Analyst:

Supports daily operations & design, development, deployment, operations and maintenance (O&M), of federal budget and execution processes.

Participates in the improvement of financial and budgetary business processes.

Provides clear, routine and effective communication between project and client teams

Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs, ultimately producing clear proposals, documentation, and/or deliverables.

Documents requirements and business workflows.

Works closely with product owners and managers to convert business use cases into actionable tasks for the development team.

Writes user stories and ensures stories and tasks are complete prior to sprint planning.

Applies analysis of business systems and software solutions to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of work processes for both current and future business needs.

Produces documentation related to system information architecture and processes which may include: technical requirements, functional specifications, data flow diagrams, high-level test cases, requirements traceability matrices, flow charts, wireframes/mockups, user stories, and use case documentation.

Conducts presentations and communicates product features to both technical and non-technical communities and aids in the coordination and communication of cross-team initiatives.

Coordinates with the developers and technical team with regards to associated applications technical service ticket management and fix and enhancement requirements

Creates, manages and maintains required project documentation.

Utilizes project management best practices to ensure Business and IT requirements are met and clearly communicates deliverables to team and provides clear, frequent, and effective communication to key stakeholders which includes:

Creating/delivering executive reporting

Performing dedicated issue/risk/change management and solutioning

Contributes to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with team members.

Proactively seeking guidance, clarification, and feedback; providing guidance, clarification and feedback to less-experienced staff.


What You Will Need:

US Citizenship or Authorization to work within US. Ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust

Bachelor’s degree

ONE to THREE years of experience as a Business Analyst working on agile software development projects.

Understanding of the agile SDLC.

General understanding of web technologies.

Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Professional Suite (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)

Experience with modeling software such as Visio, Draw.io, or equivalent.

Experience working on, coordinating, and communicating on cross-team initiatives.

Familiar with information technology architecture, governance, and data exchange.

Experience with presentation and web communication tools.

Ability to communicate complex technical problems to a non-technical audience.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Customer service oriented.

Passion and drive for learning new technologies and practices.

Adaptable, dependable, and independent.

Proficient with requirements-gathering tools.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

Experience with Appian, JIRA.

Possesses federal budget knowledge related to budget formulation, planning and execution.

The annual salary range for this position is $71,800.00-$107,600.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
