Business Analyst

Join a top employer and advance your career. Exciting remote contract opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst with our Government client based in Winnipeg. This will be a 6-month term to start with an expected total duration of 24 months.
Responsibilities:
Lead requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders to understand business objectives and document detailed business requirements.Analyze and document current business processes and workflows, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.Develop comprehensive business cases outlining the costs, benefits, and risks of proposed solutions.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (including IT, operations, and management) to ensure alignment of business and technology solutions.Create functional specifications and user stories, ensuring they are clear, complete, and feasible for implementation.Conduct impact analysis for proposed changes and enhancements to existing systems and processes.Provide guidance and mentorship to junior business analysts and team members as needed.Participate in testing and quality assurance efforts, ensuring solutions meet business requirements and are fit for purpose.Assist in the development of training materials and conduct training sessions for end users as necessary.Defines and documents business processes involving current and future states.Acts as a liaison between departmental end-users, technical teams, consultants and other governmental organizations in the analysis, design, configuration, testing and maintenance of solutions.Identifies opportunities for improving business processes through the use of technology and/or through business process changes.Reads and interprets technical literature and translates in terms understandable to the end-users or non-technical staff.Plans, organizes and conducts business processes. Reengineering/improvement projects and/or management reviews of programs.Consolidates information into cohesive and understandable correspondence or other written form for use in management decision-making.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Commerce or an equivalent field.Minimum of 10 years of experience working as a Business Analyst.Minimum of 5 years of experience documenting/conducting process analysis and re-engineering.Minimum of 5 years of experience writing requirements, use cases and user stories.Minimum of 5 years of experience in working on projects in an agile environment.Must possess strong political acumen and critical thinking skillsMust possess a high level of communication, consulting, and client relationship skills. The Analyst must be able to communicate complex technical and business concepts, both to clients (internal or external) and team members, and to negotiate change.Must be capable of effectively identifying and framing problems, leading the collection of elements of information, and integrating this information to produce timely and thoughtful decisions.A criminal background check is required.
