GENERAL DESCRIPTION OR PURPOSE OF JOB:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Business Analyst to support the development of our customer-focused enterprise data warehouse. This role will focus on working with Data Architects and Managers to elicit, formalize, and document requirements in the form of actionable Jira stories. The ideal candidate will bring structure and clarity to evolving or ambiguous business needs, and serve as a key conduit between business objectives and technical execution.
RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, providing updates on delivery status and acting as a point person for clarifications.
Collaborate with Data Architects and Managers to gather and formalize business and technical requirements.
Define problem statements, including core business concepts, attributes, historical scope, data granularity, and business rules (e.g., inclusion/exclusion/summarization).
Create and maintain a prioritized backlog of business requests and enhancements for each project.
Create use cases and scenarios to illustrate proposed changes and desired business outcomes.
Outline thorough testing requirements of data and business processes to ensure accuracy and integrity during and after implementation.
Perform other related responsibilities as assigned, to assist IT management on other activities as necessary.
Required:
+ 3+ years of experience as a Requirements Engineer, Business Analyst, or similar role within a data-focused environment.
+ Proven ability to translate business objectives and high-level concepts into clear technical requirements and user stories.
+ Experience using Jira, Confluence, or similar Agile tools to manage requirements and stories.
+ Familiarity with enterprise data warehouse concepts, particularly related to customer analytics.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on clarity and structure.
+ Basic proficiency in SQL and comfort working with data for validation or exploration.
+ Demonstrated ability to work under the direction of architects and managers in a collaborative technical team.
Preferred:
+ Experience with modern data platforms such as Snowflake and BI tools such as Incorta.
+ Background in customer analytics, churn analysis, or segmentation projects.
+ Understanding of data governance, metadata, and quality practices.
+ Previous experience working in organizations where business engagement is limited or evolving.
