Business Analyst Finance Support (100% Virtual Remote)

The Business Analyst reviews, analyzes, develops and evaluates transactional business processes and metrics associated with the Finance Support Team and its members’ work; gathers relevant data sources, performs root cause analyses of productivity and quality issues and process breakdowns to formulate business process improvements; documents existing business processes and performs gap analyses to develop best practices to meet business needs; develops systems and processes to track key performance indicators for individuals, teams and the department; and develops and publishes reports of department KPIs and SLAs to stakeholders. **This position has been segmented as Remote Anywhere meaning the work is completed 100% remote anywhere in the U.S. except Hawaii or United States Territories.** **Responsibilities:** + Provides technical assistance to FST Supervisors, Accounting Clerks and Staff Accountants (FST Team). + Provides support to the FST Team and Area Finance personnel in the form of relevant ad hoc analyses. + Where errors occur in excess of standards, summarize root cause of issues and recommend business process improvements to address. Will perform and/or provide analysis to Area Finance to enable preventive measures. + Performs analyses of requests to shared email boxes to determine root cause of issues and recommend business process improvements to address. + Reviews and analyzes audit log details for productivity and accuracy; performs analysis to determine root cause of issues and recommend business processes to address. + Works with department trainers and supervisors to document best practices and standard operating procedures for the department. + Works with VSC, Area Finance and Area Leadership to develop joint best practices to minimize the number of VSC remedy cases and customer credits/debits. + Develops, analyzes and reviews key performance indicators at the individual, team and department levels. + Develops actionable analytics and measures the effect of efforts to improve and correct issues. **Education/Training:** + Business-related Associate Degree or higher required. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Purchasing or other analytically oriented major preferred. + Six Sigma, LEAN, Agile experience preferred. **Related Experience:** + Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial or business analytics with a solid understanding of foodservice/distribution operational and financial transactions. + Minimum of 2 years of experience in continuous improvement and project management preferred. **Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:** + High level proficiency with Microsoft Office; (Excel, Word, Outlook) understands formulas and utilizes VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, macros and other advanced functionality; uses Outlook and Teams and schedules meetings, manages calendar. + Ability to work with a large volume of data through tools such as Snowflake (SQL), Sigma, Oracle (Discoverer/Merlin), MS Excel. + Ability to be self-taught using training materials available through LinkedIn Learning and the internet when new technology becomes available or changes in technology occur. + Ability to observe, document and make recommendations on process improvements and execute on recommendations. + Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment and interact with a variety of associates (all levels), external customers (limited), and vendor community in a supportive and positive manner. + Strong attention to detail and flexibility; follow through on commitments and to work within an environment of changing priorities. + Strong analytical and problem solving skills. + Solid relationship building skills for interpersonal communication with internal and external customers and vendors. + Motivated self-starter that demonstrates positive attitude and business maturity. + Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to respond professionally to internal and external phone calls and correspondence. + Strong algebraic and problem solving capabilities. + Ability to work independently and in a collaborative manner; demonstrate business maturity in conduct of daily activities; serve as a role model for FST Team. + Ability to learn new systems and processes with basic training, such as the tools available in MS O365 (Power Apps, Macros). + Ability to prioritize workload, meet critical deadlines and work calmly under pressure. + Ability to work overtime, as needed, to support business requirements. **Universal Pay Verbiage:** Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $55,000 and $90,000.
