Business Analyst I - Reporting

SUMMARY

The Business Analyst for the Delivery Reporting and Insights Team (R&I) helps drive results by performing the following tasks in support of report development: analyzing requirements, developing designs, preparing for and conducting testing, performing quality checks against standards, and producing documentation.  The Delivery Team, which is comprised of over 3,000 employees, is responsible for implementing, operating, and supporting RealPage’s extensive suite of products and solutions.  By providing analysis and support needed to produce accurate reporting, the Business Analyst for R&I will help ensure that leaders within Delivery have access to accurate and timely information needed to make informed business decisions. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design Support R&I Business Partners in capturing reporting requirements from internal customers  Document business need and objectives for the report Produce mock-ups showing potential report look and feel Produce documentation explaining business need and objectives for the report Testing/Quality Assurance
Review dashboard/report requirements and designs Develop a basic testing approach for each dashboard/report aligned to requirements Perform testing and quality review of dashboard/report following testing approach Document any questions or issues identified during testing Check overall dashboard/report against general R&I standards (format, look and feel, drill-though capability, refresh schedule) Provide documented issues/questions to dashboard/report developer Coordinate follow-up testing to determine if previously reported issues are resolved Report on testing status to R&I leaders Documentation For each Delivery Dashboard/Report, produce the following documentation according to RealPage/industry standards and best practices: Summary of dashboard purpose Intended audience Field-level definitions Explanation of any calculations Data sources Written instructions for users explaining how to utilize the report Recorded session providing users with an overview of how to interact with the report Regularly review and update documentation as reports are updated and enhancements made Update key dashboard/report data (location, description, owner) in the R&I team report tracking tool

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Excellent written and verbal communication skills Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
