OverviewSummary
The Business Analyst Intern will assist in analyzing, documenting, and validating business needs within the organization. In this role, the intern will help plan, design, and improve business and operational processes.
Responsibilities include gathering and analyzing data to support business cases, project proposals, and system requirements. The intern will also collaborate with teams to support the development process and ensure project deliverables align with business objectives. Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills will be essential for success in this role.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions
Meets with executive leadership, decision makers, business owners, technical owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issuesCollaborates with project managers and project sponsors to determine project scope and visionIdentifies project stakeholders and establish roles and responsibilities (process owners, change champions, etc.)Conducts interviews and product analysis to gather user requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methodsDevelops and utilizes standard templates to accurately and concisely write requirement specificationsTranslates conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project teamAnalyzes and verifies requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standardsWorks with stakeholders and project team to prioritize collected requirementsCreates process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the project teamDevelops and conducts peer reviews to ensure that requirement specifications are correctly interpretedManages and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; enforce and redefine as necessaryCommunicates changes, enhancements, and modifications – verbally or through written documentation project managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understoodEstablishes practices and procedures that work towards the continuous improvement of the requirements process QualificationsRequired Qualifications
Currently pursuing a diploma or university degree in software engineering, computer science, business administration or a related fieldAbility to analyze data, identify trends, and provide insightsStrong ability to assess business challenges and recommend solutionsEffective verbal and written communication for collaborating with stakeholders and documenting requirementsFamiliarity with workflows, requirements gathering, and process improvement methodologiesAbility to ensure accuracy in documentation, data analysis, and reportingAbility to work effectively with cross-functional teams
