Business Analyst - People Operations
Job Title: Business Analyst - People Operations Department: People Operations Reports to: AVP of People Operations Location: Remote Salary range: $66K to $72K* *New hires are typically brought into the organization between the minimum to midpoint of the salary range posted depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role. Position Overview: The Business Analyst for People Operations will play a critical role in supporting the People Operations department by analyzing data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to improve people operations processes and strategies. This position will help ensure that the organization effectively manages its human capital to achieve its mission and goals. This person must have experience with Workday. Duties/Responsibilities: + Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret HR data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform decision-making. + Reporting: Develop and maintain HR dashboards and reports to track key metrics such as employee turnover, recruitment, and performance. Creates sustainable reporting that meets the needs of the business units and provides relevant and accurate HR data on a regular/ ad-hoc basis. Curates’ potentially complex reports through the joining and cleansing of data across disparate systems to provide clear and concise information for leadership. + Build data auditing tools that ensure integrity of information. Performs regular audits to validate all data is current, complete and accurate within People Operations. + Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve People Operations processes, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee engagement. + Project Management: Lead and support People Operations projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. + Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with People Operations team members and other departments to understand their needs and provide data-driven recommendations. + Compliance: Ensure HR practices comply with relevant laws and regulations. + Training and Support: Provide training and support to HR staff on data analysis tools and techniques Required Skills/Abilities: + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. + Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, HRIS systems). + Excellent communication and presentation skills. + Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. + Knowledge of HR practices and regulations. Decision Making: + Identifies multi-faceted problems affecting achievement of individual goals and provides solutions. + Decisions have minor organizational impact that may require consultation with internal and external stakeholders regarding issues, possible solutions and implementation of alternatives. + Analyzes and interprets issues, realigns responsibilities, commits resources and proposes alternative solutions. + Implements solutions for projects after approval; held accountable if no action is taken. + Multi-factor decision- making requiring research and analysis, subject to supervisory guidance. Scope of Responsibility/Accountability: + Manages programs/projects, creates and implements work plans and objectives. + Monitors and evaluates interim results and develops contingency plans if objectives are off track. + Performance is reviewed by director level and above. Managing/Directing Work: + Interprets standards, communicates constructive feedback and guides others in developing their capacity to perform more effectively. + Participates in planning and implementing small and large scale work activities and contributes to evaluation of results for assigned objectives. + Manages their own task list with minimal supervision.
