Business Analyst - Plynk Technology

The Role

The Plynk technology team within the Fidelity Brokerage Technology organization is looking for an energetic Lead Business Analyst who blends knowledge of the brokerage domain with a passion for designing best in class solutions. You will be part of a highly dynamic team that builds and supports a wide array of best-in-class products. Our engineering team is innovative, diverse, passionate and hard-working.

As a business analyst, your primary role will be to ensure smooth delivery of features and enhancements in the Plynk mobile app by analyzing complex business requirements and coordinating with team members and collaborators alike. You are expected to quickly gain an understanding of all the components of Plynk to be able to contribute to strategic roadmaps and initiatives related to the development, enhancement, maintenance, and support of the product.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring 2+ years of experience as an analyst in the brokerage finance domain. Experience in brokerage platform solutions preferredStrong written and verbal communication skillsUnderstand and evaluate business requirements, identify gaps, analyze existing platform capabilities, and come up with a plan for implementation.Document results of analysis and share with both internal and external customers as needed.Lead multiple development work streams as follows:Be the go-to person for any questions related to business requirements. Collaborate with developers and QA on a day-to-day basis.Pursue dependencies / enhancement requests with other teams/partners so that they are addressed in a timely manner. Understand the right collaborators to be contacted, set up and chair meetings to clearly articulate requirements and set expectations, then follow up through to closure.Determine the best way to split development work in the form of Jira stories. Create high-quality Jira stories by adhering to Agile practices. Drive refinement sessions.Ability to give high-impact presentations and demos to senior management, and representing the team at important forums in the organizationStrong collaborator management skills: should be able to manage expectations of and set expectations with multiple senior partners and coordinate with multiple teams engaged on the projectBasic understanding of APIs. Should be able to analyze APIs via Postman / equivalent API testing tool, and share findings.Coordinate with partners from the Plynk product team, LRC team, API producer teams and any other teams on whom the Plynk team partners with.Identify creative solutions to business problems; conduct secondary research and prepare proposals in the form of Powerpoint presentations / other documentation.Create high-impact presentations and give presentations/demos to senior management.Align with the leadership’s vision for the products and ensure that day-to-day tactical requests don’t compromise that vision.Proactively lead process improvement initiatives.Provide inputs for competitor research of other brokerage apps and research on fintech trends.Coordinate regulatory review process for new features; partnering with legal, risk and compliance to gather feedback, reduce risk and document the experience.

Plynk is a mobile brokerage app intended to make investing easy, welcoming, and empowering for novice investors to just get started and keep going. Our objective is to build an innovative app that powers the world’s most intuitive investing process. Plynk will help the organization generate new revenue streams and acquire new customers in an increasingly competitive market.

The base salary range for this position is $52,000-$83,000 per year.  

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
