Business Analyst - Power and Revenue Accounting
**Description** **SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS** **JOB TITLE:** Business Analyst **REQUSITION:** ACC001B **DEPARTMENT:** Power and Revenue Accounting - Topeka General Office or 801-Charlotte **LOCATION:** Topeka, KS Kansas City, MO **PAY RANGE:** Business Analyst I: $51,000 - $63,700 Business Analyst II: $62,300 - $77,900 Sr Business Analyst: $70,400 - $93,900 Lead Business Analyst: $83,100 - $110,000 **Scheduled Work Hours** : Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. This role will be a combination of at home and in office work, with the ability to work on-site Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays each week. Candidates who are performing work from home must live in Kansas or Missouri. **Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:** Responsible for detailed analysis of generation, interchange, and load meter data submitted to regional Power Pools for use in preparation of transmission and market system revenues and expenses on a monthly basis on behalf of Evergy and external counterparties. In addition, the position will collaborate and coordinate system enhancements and upgrades, support business initiatives, be responsible to meet the on-going needs of management, and comply with all regulatory and external reporting requirements and deadlines. * Document business system requirements for the Transmission System. * Oversee system implementations and assist with preparation of related testing materials. * Develop business processes, policies, design specifications, and testing activities for new business systems. * Coordinate maintenance and support of systems with new and/or changing business requirements. * Troubleshoot system problems and coordinate resolution of problems. * Improve division efficiency through focus on innovation, process improvements, and leverage of data analysis tools and concepts. * Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex Transmission System data. * Maintain and enhance working relationships throughout organization by providing clear, concise, accurate and responsive information in a timely manner, and foster an environment of teamwork and quality customer service. * General knowledge of the SPP OATT (Open Access Transmission Tariff) and NITS/NOA. * Analytical and critical thinking skills in order to solve complex meter and transmission settlement problems. * Oversee PowerBI analytics environment including design, implementation, and maintenance of Workspace and App reports/dashboards. * Ability to communicate technical settlement concepts to other work groups and external counterparties. * Ability to manage multiple tasks and juggle priorities to meet deadlines. **Qualifications** **Education and Experience Requirements:** * Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Business Analytics or related field required or * Five (5) years of experience in the regulated utility industry. * Requires advanced proficiency with spreadsheets. * Experience with SQL and relational databases is preferred. * Must possess effective oral and written communication skills, the ability to work in a “team” environment. **Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:** A strong understanding of energy markets and meter data, as it relates to transmission settlements is required. Be able to apply analytical thinking, creative problem solving and sound reasoning and logic. Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and respond quickly and accurately, with a strong attention to detail. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft office, have strong Excel skills and proficiency with SharePoint Online. Experience in PowerBI analytics tool preferred. **Licenses, Certificates, Bonding and/or Testing Required:** Must have a valid driver’s license. **Working Conditions:** Normal office working conditions.
