Overview The Sales Manager will be responsible for serving as the hotel representative by identifying and sourcing Leisure and Business Travel to maximize room revenue and ensure budgeted leisure & BT targets are achieved for the property. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, has a strong passion for service, entrepreneurial spirit, is well organized, strong communicator both verbally & written and enjoys finding new ways to bring new business to the Resort. This position reports directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing and will work closely with the Senior Leisure Sales Leader, Reservations and Revenue Leadership team to ensure that the Leisure and BT sales strategy is in line with the property's business needs. This position is a brand ambassador & embraces the La Cantera Resort & Spa vision and culture. Remote will not be considered for this position. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Experience in meeting and exceeding individual revenue goals, and able to effectively manage maximize revenue while meeting client needs. Able to identify and optimize opportunities to upsell to suites, SEVEN (21+ up floor) and Villa product. Demonstrated success in building brands and delivering results. Looking for a skilled storyteller who is inspired by the challenge of bringing experiences to life and understands who and how to target to the luxury traveler. Excellence at proactive selling. Able to target key accounts, markets or segments. Also displays a proven ability to build and strengthen relationships with existing and new clients to include sales calls, entertainment and FAM trips. Knowledge of all leisure, transient and business travel distribution channels and tools (i.e. Hotelligence) and possess a thorough understanding of GDS distribution networks, OTA’s. Understands the overall market competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them. Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and direct sales goals including outside sales calls, prospecting calls, site inspections, and entertainment as outlined. Conduct ongoing internal training with hotel reservations, front office and F&B as needed to ensure Resort performance with consortia programs and expected service levels. Qualifications Strong understanding of affluent travel agency clientele and key consortia segment partners to include, but not limited to, American Express, Signature and Virtuoso. Sales experience in a hotel or resort environment; ideally has experience in the Independent Hotel/Resort landscape. Strong ability to uncover new accounts and/or grow existing business opportunities. This role will require frequent domestic travel and occasional international travel.
