The Japan region is essential to Avanade’s Asia Pacific areas growth with annual growth rates in excess of 30% for both sales and revenue and with favourable market conditions with a high presence in both the private sector as well as in the public sector.
Business Applications is the fastest growing Solution Area for Avanade in Asia Pacific. Experiencing exceptional growth throughout FY21-23 and an ambitious +40% growth for FY24, Avanade is looking for a Business Leader to lead the Japan Business that is focused on achieving outcomes and generating results.
The Regional Business Applications Solution Area (SA) Lead is responsible for the overall performance and growth of the Business Applications Solution Area in the assigned region. comprising of:
· Dynamics 365 CE (CRM) and surrounding applications,
· Dynamics 365 F&O (ERP), and
· Power Platform.
Responsible for developing the Solution Area business strategy, oversee, and deliver against sales, revenue, and other financial performance measures. Strive to deliver quality in your region, mitigating future and resolving present quality and client delivery issues. Working closely with the regional execs and the Growth Markets Business Applications Solution Area Lead, to implement strategies to continue to grow the business.
THE ROLE
This role is a member of the Regional Leadership team and Japan Leadership team.
A strategic outlook will assist the ideal profile in the navigation of a "new normal", both for Avanade and its client and partner ecosystem. A strong orientation towards execution will also be required Driving cross solution area offerings to deliver outcomes to clients through leadership in the region. Working directly with clients and in close partnership with the sales, advisory and delivery organizations to drive offering success, supporting long-term health and success. Additionally, partnering with the Capability Lead and the Talent Community Leads to focus on skill needs and development of resources, both present and future, to ensure the organization is ready for and adapting to Solution Area changes.
RESPONSIBILITIES & OUTCOMES
The vision to be creative is essential although best practice around core activity is also a given, with a focus on regional planning, pipeline development, complex channel management, strategic deal shaping, bid management and on-going sales effectiveness program implementation, as well as evolving and running the various sales reporting cadences.
Creation of Innovation & Offering strategy:
Define and implement the Solution Area strategy for the assigned region for CRM, ERP and Power Platform.
Align to Portfolio strategy to ensure positive organizational results as determined by Portfolio Lead.
Partner with peers in other geographies and with the Area SA Lead to help establish the operations plan.
Identify opportunities to grow cross-offering and cross solution area presence.
Solution Area development:
Accountable for driving offerings in the Solution Area - share assets and knowledge
Develop Regional offering strategy with Microsoft and the Accenture Microsoft Business Group (AMBG) Leadership team.
Promote Microsoft and other ISV offers and initiatives to drive origination and growth
Develop the GTM strategy aligned to the regional target and territories list
Effectively position Solution Area and cross-SA offerings including GTM plays with the sales team, channels, and target clients (Direct and Indirect)
Develop cross-offering Solution Area opportunities.
Sales support:
Support business development through all stages of the deal pursuit process
Lead and support the team solution planning and design efforts and workstreams to shape client’s solution vision and deliver value; sign off solution plans as deliverable at sold margin
Engage Global team (offering leads and Solution Area) to support sales
Manage financials against regional targets and metrics; provide forecasting analysis to support processes on a monthly basis.
Delivery:
Become a direct partner to clients, particularly at executive level, ensuring client satisfaction through engagement value; gather feedback and experience
Enable and ensure lighthouse success stories throughout project offerings
Client stakeholder management for key accounts i.e. Most Valued Clients (MVC) and Growth Accounts
Support delivery mobilization, delivery success, delivery of offering to clients
Collaborate with delivery leads to surface delivery issues and estimate EAC outcomes for projects
Capabilities:
Manage resource escalations for Solution Area project to maintain effective business operations and project outcomes
Partner with Regional Capability Lead to determine priorities for staff positioning on client projects and business development activities, balancing supply vs demand timing and optimal ATC (offshore) participation
Support decisions on investments within the Solution Area to help grow the offering and practice
Drive the Business Applications Managed Services offerings to develop and grow long term, high value client relationships.
Skills and Capability Requirements:
Technical Experience:
Experience in Microsoft applications, Dynamics ERP, CRM transformation.
Experience helping grow a service business through strategy and sales contribution.
Working effectively within large and/or complex projects.
Consulting & Delivery Experience:
Experience establishing a presence in the minds of key clients through client interactions and executive presence
Experience with sales principles and practices, including business development, and complex channel management
Ability to effectively partner and team with peers in a large, matrixed organizations
Excellent leadership and communication skills, especially strong influencing and negotiation capabilities, problem solving abilities
Track record in developing and growing long term, high value client relationships.
Experience delivering solutions for client organizations through complex solutions / projects with heavy client interaction
Strong consulting / project-based background, including assessing and managing the opportunity and risk associated with large scale, complex projects
Ability to guide and direct leadership teams in development, production, and promotion of solution offerings
Significant experience with off-shore teams and delivery
Deep technical expertise in domains relevant to Solution Area solution portfolio
Preferred Experience Behaviours & Qualifications

In particular, the preferred profile will be bilingual with English language skills, have leadership experience, be outcome based and value driven. This will include leading and developing the right team, achieving the envisioned cultural evolution, and bringing the transformational sponsorship needed to embed new ways of delivering value to clients across a complex landscape.
Visibility as an influencer on business relevant social media and in the regional business press.
The preferred profile has a high degree of integrity, credibility, resilience and character. Has experience in an international working environment and is ready to embrace and innovate in the "new normal"
A Degree in Business or Technology related field (required). An advanced Degree or MBA is strongly preferred, particularly technical (IT, Engineering or related)
15+ years relevant technology business experience, proven business and financial acumen, experience in strategic sales, executive engagement, delivery and management within a professional services environment.
Certifications:
One (1) or more Business Applications aligned Microsoft certification per year:
· ERP: MB-920: F&O Fundamentals
· DSS: MB-910: CE Fundamentals
· Power Platform: PL-900: Power Platform Fundamentals
