Business Architect

Role impact:

Accountable for the articulation of the business architecture strategy and roadmap. Develops artifacts including business capability maps and value streams to drive alignment between business goals and objectives with underpinning technology solutions. Responsible for articulating specific architectural views, and viewpoints which facilitate enterprise-wide business decisions. The role might also include participation in specific projects and initiatives.

What you will deliver:

Supports development of the business architecture strategy and roadmap Performs alignment to the corporate business goals and objectives. Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement and additional efficiencies Conducts change assessments to determine impact of proposed changes, and support enterprise-level decision-making Provides the required oversight and business process support as necessary to establish, maintain, and enhance business technology solutions and roadmaps with a view to executing the Strategy, Vision, and goals of the business unit Documents current capabilities and articulate a future state based on emerging business need Supports development of the best path to implement change based on strategic business opportunity Contributing to defining and evolving architecture principles, policies and standards, governance, enterprise-wide decisions etc. Collaboration with the different lines of business (LoBs), in order to come up with an enterprise-wide business capability model, that capture value streams, as well as business capabilities (at various levels of granularity).

Analytical skills to effectively use tools and methodologies Excellent written and oral presentation skills Ability to understand overarching business model as well as intricacies and nuances of the assigned functional business areas Ability to establish and cultivate successful relationships with business leaders and tactfully handle feedback Analytical skills to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and decompose high-level information into details, as well as abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding Ability to communicate effectively, influence others and initiate action Interprets business needs at a tactical and strategic level Highly organized and able to assist the business in governance processes Ability to combine business and technical thinking

What you need to succeed:     

Minimum 7 years work experience with a four-year college/university degree, or 10 years relevant work experience Experience in design and modelling of business solutions Experience in Real Estate Exposure to complex business process landscapes TOGAF certification is an asset
