Job summary
We are seeking a skilled Architect with 3 to 6 years of experience in Mainframes Modernization Mainframe Utilities and Mainframe Work. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative solutions to modernize our mainframe systems. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of working both remotely and on-site with no travel required.
Responsibilities
Lead the design and implementation of mainframe modernization projects to ensure seamless integration with existing systems.Oversee the development and deployment of mainframe utilities to enhance system performance and reliability.Provide technical expertise in mainframe work ensuring that all solutions meet industry standards and best practices.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address system inefficiencies and areas for improvement.Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all mainframe modernization projects and utilities.Ensure that all mainframe solutions are scalable secure and aligned with the companys long-term goals.Conduct regular system audits and performance assessments to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.Mentor and support junior team members fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in mainframe modernization and utilities to drive innovation.Facilitate effective communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure project success.Manage project timelines and deliverables ensuring that all milestones are met on schedule.Provide technical support and troubleshooting for mainframe-related issues as needed.Contribute to the development of strategic plans for mainframe modernization and overall IT infrastructure improvement.Qualifications
Possess a strong background in mainframe modernization with hands-on experience in relevant projects.Demonstrate expertise in mainframe utilities including development deployment and maintenance.Exhibit proficiency in mainframe work with a deep understanding of industry standards and best practices.Have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and address system inefficiencies.Show strong communication skills capable of effectively conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders.Be a team player with a collaborative mindset willing to mentor and support junior team members.The Cognizant community:
