Manage a team of Relationship Managers, Business Development Officers, Portfolio Managers, and/or support staff, responsible primarily for business development, relationship management and portfolio management. Responsible for P&L performance and managing multiple markets across the Associated footprint. Depending upon the market and scope of responsibility, the Team Leader may be responsible for direct sales production and portfolio management. Provide coaching and performance assessment to the sales and support direct reports. Initiate and develop new business relationships. Ensure the portfolio administration and risk management of each client relationship is in compliance with established Associated Banc-Corp credit policy, procedure and business strategy, as well as, commercial and regulatory guidelines.Develop and manage relationships by reviewing and analyzing financial data, alongside the Relationship and/or Portfolio Manager, to determine the merits of specific loan requests, and recommend structure as well as aggressively manage the client relationship. Responsible for cross-selling all non-credit bank services (i.e., Commercial Deposit and Treasury Management, Capital Markets, Private Banking, Wealth Management and Institutional Services, Associated Financial Group, Employee Benefit Services, Retail Bank-at-Work, etc.) to our existing client base and prospects.Directly or through leading others, initiate new business opportunities for the bank through the development of new business contacts and maintenance of existing client relationships to ensure sufficient loan, deposit and fee income. Effectively leverage assigned staff for maximum personal impact on new business development. Ensure resources are always deployed on a "highest and best use" basis. Act as deal team leader on all substantial new business opportunities.Manage team members' relationship activities, with personal involvement in key accounts. Identify needs and refer customers to partners within and across lines of business who can best meet those needs. Serve as a relationship manager for non-borrowing accounts and loan clients for matters relating to other banking services. Maintain proficiency in CDTM services, working closely with CDTM staff for solicitation of high value CDTM accounts.Directly or through leading others, provide financial advice and counsel to clients and prospective clients regarding trends and conditions of the business environment and general banking trends. Train and coach team members on financial advisory topics.Work closely with respective Relationship and/or Portfolio Managers to ensure the portfolio administration and risk management of each client relationship is in compliance with established Associated Banc-Corp credit policy, procedure and business strategy as well as regulatory guidelines. Monitor loan repayment activities and financial condition of borrowing clients and take necessary action to collect past due accounts and ongoing repayment ability of all other accounts. Assume overall responsibility for the credit quality of the team’s loan portfolio. Make presentations on specific loans and participate in the bank's Loan Approval Process, recommending approval and appropriate structure of credits.Work with Director of Business Banking to establish strategy and annual business plan with responsibility for execution of initiatives, budgeting, business reviews, and collaborating with key partners and stakeholders.Manage colleagues by establishing annual performance goals; allocating resources; assessing annual performance; and determining and recommending individual merit, incentive, and/or promotional increases. Conduct periodic huddles with colleagues to discuss current state-of-the-state and brainstorm on ideas to increase revenue and efficiency, and ensure staff is trained on any procedure changes.Participate in community, business and industry-specific functions/groups to ensure a positive image for the bank. Serve on community, corporate or not-for-profit boards as applicable.Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Business, Finance or Accounting Required
Experience: 7-10 years Commercial, corporate or specialized banking. Required
Licenses and Certifications: CTP - Certified Treasury Professional within 2 years Preferred
