Business Consultant Paid Internship in Japan
Summary of job scope:
We seek a Business Consultant Paid Intern with a growth mindset who exhibits strong leadership skills, particularly in Entrepreneurship, Ownership & Accountability, and Networking & Partnerships. This role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional business teams employing agile ways of working to create business value and outcomes with data and Advanced Data Analytics. We offer flexibility in the duration and time allocation of the internship, which can be from 3, 6, or 9 months, and can accommodate part-time schedules while the candidate is pursuing their academic degree.
Primary Activities:
Leverage Strategy in Support of Business Outcomes: Support the design and delivery of innovative, data-driven insights and solutions that drive business value, by leveraging commercial strategy, technical acumen, strong leadership, and exceptional communication skills. Understand customer needs and align solutions to meet those needs.
Engage in Requirements Gathering and Analysis: Collaborate with diverse stakeholders to identify and document business needs and processes, gather comprehensive information, analyse and prioritize requirements to ensure alignment with the organization’s goals. Utilize Data and Analytics knowledge, and pharmaceutical industry and data landscape understanding, to inform analytical approaches.
Conduct Project Management and Coordination: Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams, ensuring smooth communication and project alignment. Oversee project timelines, resources, and deliverables to guarantee timely completion. Report on project statuses, risks, and issues to stakeholders, utilizing root cause analysis, and providing solutions where necessary.
Drive Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and cultivate relationships with stakeholders across various functions to align on strategy and initiatives. Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to incorporate new trends and methodologies in decision-making.
Support Strategic Development and Ideation: Maintain a catalogue of use cases and prioritize them to address business questions and opportunities effectively, acting as a liaison between local and global team, to generate and refine ideas. Support the enablement of adoption and change management of global Advanced
Analytics solutions, by fostering local advocacy, cultivating relationships, and establishing credibility, while closely partnering with Japan business stakeholders. Advocate adoption of advanced analytics solutions, fostering relationships and credibility with local teams.
Implement Technology Modernization: Apply modern technologies related to data and analytics, to enhance our company's processes and efficiency, demonstrating a customer-centric perspective in all technological implementations.
Drive Agile Delivery: Utilize agile methodologies, by ffacilitating cross-functional teams, including global team members, to deliver business outcomes efficiently and productively, based on the principles of iteration and experimentation, while setting high standards for quality and performance.
Provide Business Outcomes: Design innovative solutions leveraging analytical approaches and best practices, build prototypes, conduct analysis, and document processes to deliver actionable insights and business outcomes to stakeholders and management. Understand customer needs and align solutions to meet those needs.
Foster Global Collaboration: Establish and nurture effective partnerships with cross-functional teams and international communities, actively seeking opportunities to build relationships that advance work goals.
Lead Decision-Making: Leverage Data and Analytics techniques, to make informed decisions that solve critical business problems and achieve organizational goals. Take ownership of outcomes and encourage a culture of accountability.
Uphold Behavior Standards: Maintain robust behavior standards that promote collaboration, learning, and knowledge sharing while setting an example of excellence for fellow team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience working on complex analytical projects, preferably related to the pharmaceutical industry, or having exposure to management consulting effort.
* A proactive approach to solving business challenges by identifying and utilizing novel data sources.
* Intellectual curiosity and ability to identify innovative approaches to addressing business needs and pain points.
* Excellent presentation, analytics, and communication skills, both written and oral, to synthesize key issues and communicate / persuade stakeholders towards specific actions and initiatives.
* Proactive, results-oriented, creative, and flexible thinker with a growth mindset.
* Enjoys working in diverse, inclusive global and matrix environments across functions and geographies.
* Ability and willingness to speak up, challenge the status quo, and uphold high ethical and intellectual integrity standards.
* Capability to understand business requirements and translate them into data-driven processes and services, consulting stakeholders on optimal solutions and managing expectations.
* Currently a Graduate School Student, or a recent graduate (第二新卒), with a preference for an MBA, or a Master’s degree, in Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Public Health, (Pharmacology) Epidemiology, or Pharmacy.
* Business level of English language proficiency.
