We are looking for a Business Continuity Coordinator who is an analytical, creative and strategic thinker to join our Enterprise Risk Management team, based in our headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.

 

About the role

As a Business Continuity Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the robustness and reliability of financial operations. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing strategies and frameworks that enhance our ability to prevent, respond to, recover from, and adapt to operational disruptions.

 

Who you’ll work with

Under the supervision of the Head of Enterprise Risk Management, the Business Continuity Coordinator will collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement plans to anticipate, address, and mitigate the effects of various business interruptions across the different UCB entities.

 

What you’ll do

Develop and implement comprehensive operational resilience strategies and framework together with a business recovery plan and procedure; review, revise, and expand existing plans and protocols.Conduct risk assessments for various departments and functions, analyzing potential business impact of unpredictable business interruptions such as natural disasters and security breach.Collaborate with IT staff to develop and implement best practices to protect and restore data and systems in the event of natural disasters, viruses, and hackers.Identify and implement recovery operations and methods to allow the company to function at limited or partial capacity in the event that part or all of the infrastructure is damaged or destroyed.Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of resilience measures, making recommendations for improvements as needed.Lead and coordinate resilience testing exercises, including simulations and scenario planning.Develop and provide training and awareness programs to staff on operational resilience and business continuity.Prepare and present reports to senior management on the status of operational resilience initiatives.

 

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

At least 10 years of experience in crisis management specifically focused on business continuity.Deep understanding of operational risk management, business continuity, and regulatory compliance (preferably within the pharma sector).Proven track record in developing and implementing operational resilience strategies and frameworks.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.Ability to provide intellectual drive to assessments, development of business solutions and decision making within Operational resilience.Proficiency in using risk management and business continuity software/tools.
