The opportunity:
This role will report to the Sr. Manager Business Continuity and will be responsible for supporting the company’s North America’s Business Continuity Program. This position will support various Business Areas in planning, building, and completing activities for Business Continuity Management. They will help assess risks and manage gaps in resiliency readiness by enforcing compliance and seeking opportunities for process improvement.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with program management, operational resiliency, and risk management with a strong understanding of the ISO 22301 standards. The candidate should have a have experience leading teams and working in a matrix organization. The candidate should have an understanding of a distributed manufacturing environment with the skills to influence leadership decisions, lead and train people on the need for operational resiliency in a global company.

Serve as a Resiliency Champion for the North America Business Continuity Management Support the Business Areas in identification of Business-Critical Processes, writing and maintaining the plansAssist in training Business Areas in Smurfit Westrock Resiliency methodology and enforce itAssist in implementing, maintaining and improving resiliency plans, ensuring annual attestation, and testing plansPromote timely updates of Business Continuity Plans and maintain the integrity of the document Manage Business Continuity Plan updates with lessons learned and remediations to gapsEnsure compliance of company Resiliency Policy with continuous identification of new Technology solutions requiring Business Continuity PlansMaintain the integrity of the program, using KPIs to report program health, and working to resolve program issuesExcellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to effectively communicate to technical and nontechnical audienceStrong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, project / program management skills
Essential qualifications and education:
7+ years of experienceBA/BS in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or CISProject Management Professional (PMP) certification or Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) is preferredPrior Program Management experience at 2 other Major companies is a plusKnowledge of the ISO 22301 standards for Business Continuity Management systems Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigorExperience in leading and managing cross-functional teamsSystem implementation experience is a plusExpert User of MS Excel, Project, Visio, Mural, Word and PowerPoint
