Business Continuity Manager (non-people leader)

As our new Business Continuity Manager, you will play a pivotal role in crafting and implementing our business continuity strategies. This is an outstanding opportunity to join our developing Operational Resilience / Business Continuity team, where your expertise will directly contribute to our operational resilience and success. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of business continuity methodology and a proven track record of applying it in real-world scenarios to drive meaningful results. You will be responsible for aligning business continuity efforts with regulatory standards, minimizing operational disruptions and safeguarding both our customers and reputational stability.

This role does not involve direct people management.

What you'll do

Developing and Maintaining Business Continuity Plans (BCP)

Identifying critical and/or important business functions and processes

Conducting business impact assessments (BIAs) to assess the potential impact of disruptions at an enterprise level

Developing and documenting recovery strategies and procedures

Ensuring BCPs align with industry standards (e.g., OSFI, ISO 22301, Internal Business Standard)

Identifying potential risks to business operations (e.g., natural disasters, cyberattacks)

Evaluating and reporting the likelihood and impact of these risks

Developing mitigation and recovery plans

Conducting regular testing and exercises to validate BCP efficiency, simulating various disruption scenarios

Supporting the crisis management team as needed

What you'll bring

Certifications such as the Business Continuity Certified Professional (CBCP) or Business Continuity Certified Planner (BCCP)

Strong understanding of Canadian Regulations specifically including OSFI E-21, B-10 and B-13

5+ years hands on experience BCP development from an enterprise level

Risk management, disaster recovery, or crisis management is an asset

Strong analytical, problem-solving, influential and interpersonal skills are essential

Excellent communication and presentation skills with demonstrated ability to engage with senior leadership and stakeholders
