Business Coordinator

Job Description

The Business Coordinator - Living Group, will work with senior office leadership and project teams to support the business management processes and practices of our Canada West practice. You will report to the Practice Group Director, Living. You will be supporting the business aspects of Arcadis’ professional architectural practice for high-rise/mixed-use teams in Canada West. 

Role Responsibilities:

Review and support the development of fee letters with business professionals.Under the guidance of legal and professional staff, draft contracts and subcontracts based on internal corporate templates.Liaise with legal and insurance to ensure alignment with corporate guidance and best practices.Conduct thorough initial review of project agreements to inform decision making and expedite negotiation processes.Support Project Managers and staff teams in drafting Additional Services Requests and Change Orders.Record and track status of pending project agreements, Additional Services Requests and Change Orders.Support implementation, changes, and improvements to systems and processes to achieve efficiency and one way of working.Reinforce best practices, The Arcadis Way, and MEPC objectives and support education of staff where necessary.Bring forth recurring issues or roadblocks to appropriate leaders.Liaise with colleagues in growth, finance, and risk functions to ensure alignment.Act as a resource to staff for various business process inquiries. Remain up to date and knowledgeable about available resources and toolkits and where to access them.

Qualifications

You should have the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field and at least 5+ years of experience working in a large and complex project environment within an architecture or professional services firm. 

The right candidate should possess a high level of intellectual, professional, and interpersonal agility and flexibility. The candidate should have the ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization. A pragmatic attitude is vital.

Further requirements and competencies:

Familiarity with legal terminology and common contractual language.In the office 3 days a weekRelevant experience working within a large organization across multiple teams. An excellent understanding of and appreciation for business needs.A keen interest in the business of architecture.A flexible and cooperative approach.Observation and persuasion skills especially with internal stakeholders (e.g. Principals and Project Managers).An ability to communicate complex issues to diverse audiences, orally and in writing, in an easily understood and actionable manner.Time management and ability to multi-task with competing priorities.Excellent decision-making capabilities and organizational skills. Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite programs.

The salary range for this role is $75,000 - $85,000 per year.  Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
