The Academic Consultant will be an essential member of the ELL business development strategy in the region and will respond to the line manager, delivering products and services to internal and external customers.
She/He should be able to work directly with customers in the design, deployment and assessment of educational solutions aimed at the K-12 and adult environment (language institutes and/or universities), including digital and print content, assessment, professional development, and certifications.
This will require a vast knowledge of the educational environment, as well as different pedagogical approaches to ELT, bilingual education, and an in-depth familiarity with the Pearson portfolio of content and services. The Academic Consultant will also be familiar with Pearson´s Efficacy vision and lead different pilots and implementation projects.
The position involves regular travel according to each country´s strategy plan, supporting and achieving growth and expansion of Pearson´s presence within key customers.
Accountabilities, responsibilities, and main duties
Responsibilities and duties will include:
Ensure business development based on the annual strategy.
Demonstrating a thorough understanding of Pearson's relevant digital and print learning content, assessments, services and certifications via presentations and in-depth training.
Providing knowledgeable input on behalf of Pearson at exhibits, conferences, conventions, and sales meetings, as well as during conversations with customers and in the design of learning solutions.
Supporting sales teams via focused school visits with a variety of purposes, including analysis of customer needs, in–depth product presentations, design of solutions, product implementation and follow–up plan.
Developing customized academic plans and presentations including correlations with local curricula when needed.
Providing high-quality product implementation training with internal and external customers.
Key Relationships:
Internal: Sales teams, Academic Support, Marketing, other Academic Consultants, and IT Support.
External: School owners and School Principals in both International and National bilingual schools, Curriculum Directors, Curriculum Specialists, +Heads of Department, and Teachers.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:
Graduate professional. MA (Master) (desirable, non-exclusive)
Digital literacy, including familiarity with Digital Tools such as platforms, LMS (Learning Management System), e-texts, or digital repositories
Efficient use of computer skills
Familiarity with best practices in language learning (including phonics-based instruction), as well as with international curricula (US, UK, IB or other) (optional)
Oratory and interpersonal communication skills, including ability to listen to others and respond empathetically
