We're recruiting an exciting Business Development Director role to work across our Actuation System business. Leading a team across civil & military programmes, you will be the Voice of the Customer within Collins Aerospace Actuation UK, maximising existing revenue within our customer base alongside ensuring we're at the forefront of new technologies.
You will be a proven leader, respected amongst your peers who has a track record of developing teams. You will manage our high profile accounts whilst giving a voice to the team to aid their development.
You will be based at Wolverhampton or Banbury where there will be sporadic travel to our customers both in the UK & overseas. You can be based anywhere in the UK as long as you can get to Wolverhampton or Banbury for key meetings & visits.
What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?
Develop and execute strategic business development plans to drive revenue growth and expand market presence.
Identify and cultivate relationships with key industry stakeholders, including government agencies, defense contractors, commercial aerospace companies, and supply chain partners.
Lead capture management efforts for major aerospace programs, including proposal development, contract negotiations, and strategic partnerships.
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and emerging opportunities in the aerospace sector.
Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, marketing, and sales, to develop solutions that align with customer requirements and industry trends.
Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to enhance brand visibility and business opportunities.
Develop and manage the business development budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve growth objectives.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), revenue forecasts, and sales pipeline progress to senior leadership.
Stay informed on regulatory, technological, and geopolitical developments affecting the aerospace industry and advise leadership on strategic implications.

Ability to engage & influence at all levels
Excellent knowledge of commercial and military aerospace markets, procurement processes, and regulatory requirements.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful business development strategies and secure high-value contracts.
Proven track record of managing complex negotiations and partnerships with government and commercial clients.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build a large network of stakeholders in the Civil aerospace industry (OEM, regulators, airlines, government departments)
Comfortable with oversea's travel
