Our work depends on a Business Development Director joining our team to perform long range identification of opportunities, leadership of current customers, development of new customers, creation of compelling win strategies, and marshalling the resources needed to successfully win both recompeted and new work.  Major emphasis on all large Navy opportunities that require cross company cooperation to develop a winning solution. You would be the account lead for the Navy customer sets.  You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that successfully develops strategic plans, identifies promising opportunities, and then gains leadership approval for pursuit.  The ideal candidate will have a proven record of successfully closing business on large and strategic Navy/Marine Corps opportunities, and an ability to work collaboratively. A demonstrated intimacy across the Navy/Marine Corps major stakeholder organizations and in particular an understanding of the DON CIO strategy and enterprise initiatives is required to perform this role.


HOW A BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Collaborate with GDIT senior growth and delivery executives to develop, execute, and refine the Navy and Marine Corps growth strategy, in alignment with GDIT’s overall strategic plansDevelop and maintain high quality relationships with customers and partners, including next generation technology vendorsEngage with these customers, partners, and other DoD stakeholders to identify and qualify new business opportunitiesShape opportunities and our position throughout the opportunity life cycleFormulate and support the communication and implementation of an integrated business development, capture and proposal strategy that clearly highlights GDIT’s value proposition and discriminators and provides customers a clear and defensible justification for selecting GDIT for awardEstablish value added teaming strategies and competitive pricing structures to create a profitable return at a winning costLead, develop, and execute an account growth strategyLead the identification of new business opportunities that support the account plan, group growth goals, and submit targets, throughout the opportunity life cycleDevelop, maintain, and update the pipeline of new opportunitiesExecute call plans to collect information about opportunities; in collaboration with technical staff, proposes and tests potential solutions; and qualifies opportunitiesPrepare for and presents opportunities for bid decisions and pipeline reviewsLead the development of win strategies


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: Bachelor's Degree. In lieu of degree 14+ years of hands-on experience in Business Development with the US Navy supporting NAVWAR required. Required Experience: 10+ years of hands-on experience in Business Development with the US Navy supporting NAVWAR. Position requires background and familiarity in developing business focused on Engineering Services, IT Services, Cloud, Network Operations, SW development, Cyber, and/or AI solutions in a DoD environment. Bringing established relationships in the target systems commands is necessary. Ability to create strategic outcomes for NAVWAR opportunities.  Experience working within Navy Working Capital Fund (NWCF) (e.g. NIWC Pacific, NIWC Atlantic). Familiarity and knowledge of all NAVWAR PEO’s (MLB, Digital, C4I).Required Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated ability to grow a pipeline and win business within the Navy. Experience with DoD budget, investments, and acquisition processes.Security Clearance Level: None Location: This will be a hybrid position working in the San Diego, CA area. Travel up to 75% domestic. US Persons required
