Business Development Executive – Liability Modeling

Verisk is currently looking for highly motivated entrepreneurs with liability insurance risk management experience and a sales mindset to help revolutionize the liability risk management discipline across the global (re)insurance industry. Verisk’s Arium liability analytics platform is poised to drive this revolution, and this is an opportunity to be at the forefront of this movement by driving market adoption of Arium in the United States and beyond. 

The right applicant for this role must possess or have the aptitude to quickly develop an understanding of the science, statistics, and analytics that underpin Arium’s risk quantification framework, and help translate this into business value for our clients and prospects. You will work closely with existing clients in an account management capacity to help them implement and get maximum value from Arium. You will also identify, develop, and close new opportunities with major prospects across the (re)insurance and broker ecosystem. To succeed in these endeavors, you will need to effectively engage with people across multiple job functions and levels of seniority, including “C” suite, across the national and global insurers, reinsurers, and brokers.

 

 

•    Experience in the P&C insurance vertical, particularly with liability lines of business and risk quantification and management activities
•    Demonstrated ability to understand and articulate the value of analytics and risk quantification metrics to a wide range of stakeholders
•    Excellent communication and demonstration skills, including the ability to engage with executive-level audiences
•    Self-motivated and ability to work autonomously


Knowledge of at least one of the following areas is a plus:


•    Underwriting, claims, or actuarial experience is a strong benefit
•    Proven track record in sales and account management, or solid potential to develop these skills


Education:


•    BS or BA degree in a quantitative field
•    MBA or MS Management desirable

•    Manage major client accounts to ensure retention and identify new sales opportunities
•    Identify and develop qualified prospects to demonstrate how Arium will deliver business value
•    Write proposals, negotiate deals, and structure licensing contracts as you bring deals to closure
•    Attend and participate in Verisk and industry conferences to network, market our solutions, and establish relationships with current and prospective clients
•    Manage and drive the sales pipeline, and communicate sales status to management 
•    Collaborate with R&D, product management, and marketing teams to refine and deliver compelling value propositions
•    Work with a high-powered team of professionals to understand sophisticated risk-modeling techniques and to identify new marketing approaches 
•    Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual goals and objectives and track progress in achieving them
