About the role:
As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for seeking and exploring new opportunities with Tapestry’s global partners and customers. The role focuses on growing and maintaining our business development pipeline in a growth oriented startup environment, that has a product market fit and is looking to foster relationships with our next partners. Your knowledge of Energy and relationships with key industry players will also help strategically shape our projects and products. This position calls for a highly-organized self-starter, and a persuasive communicator with a passion for early stage and growth oriented businesses and comfort with ambiguity.
How you will make 10x impact:
+ Close business deals with potential partners and end customers for the solutions we have been building
+ Structure strategic partnership opportunities with key partners, and lead the identification, consultation, negotiation and execution of partnership or sales agreements
+ Identify, qualify and pursue new business opportunities to meet technical targets and unlock development milestones
+ Stay abreast of industry trends, attend industry events, understand regulations and competitive products and technologies in order to strategically identify, target and prioritize outreach to potential partners and customers
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product and engineering teams.
+ Keep track of your success towards meeting quota objectives by entering all opportunities and engagement status in Salesforce
+ Provide a weekly report on your activities
What you should have:
+ 10+ years of relevant work experience in the Energy / Electricity industry, preferably in sales or business development
+ Experience working with Energy providers or Utilities
+ A “go getter” mentality to develop new business leads and pursue leads to generate new business, in a competitive market
+ Ability to build relationships and lead deal teams through complex and ambiguous projects with multi-level, cross-functional sales processes.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with C-level customer executives and across external and internal stakeholders
+ Strong interpersonal skills, personable yet persistent.
+ Working knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM tools.
+ Experience interfacing with C-level executives, and running strategic partnership meetings.
+ Comfort being a keynote speaker or panelist, willingness to become media trained
It’d be great if you also had these:
+ Technical background knowledge of power systems or electrical engineering
+ Demonstrated knowledge and passion for the energy sector and sustainability
+ Experience working in a fast paced environment and juggling different requests.
+ Being able to connect market knowledge and channel experience to new opportunities.
+ Ability to build quantitative and qualitative business cases, articulate trade offs, and confidently make data driven decisions and recommendations.
+ Entrepreneurial, persistent, highly collaborative and curious with excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $162,000 - $257,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
