Job Description:
Business Development Lead with a focus on US Navy Programs and initiatives. Key roles of this position include:
+ Lead divisional US Navy priority pursuits in support of financial targets
+ Provide subject matter expertise for US Navy campaign and pursuit initiatives that are critical to business success
+ Identify and capture new business
+ Establish strategic business development initiatives that drive growth through product expansion, new technologies or services, follow-on products or industries, partnerships and alliances
+ Collaborate with P&L leadership, engineering, program management, and product line management on potential synergies to drive growth
The successful candidate will be skilled in building positive, focused relationships with customers and the Government, collaborating and cooperating with the goal of supporting L3Harris growth strategies.
Essential Functions:
+ Develops and maintains relationships with customers and industry partners
+ Arrange and support strategic customer engagements.
+ Support tradeshows as required
+ Provides timely, accurate, actionable insights on industry, market and budgetary trends and competitors, to support divisional priority pursuits
+ Evaluates business opportunities (customers/markets/products) in consideration of trends and makes recommendations on growth and capture strategies
+ Identify markets, opportunities, and determine feasibility of product development
+ Develops and implements short and long-term strategies aligned with the organization and recommends goals to upper management
+ Collaborates with Engineering in development of long term market roadmaps and alignment of technology roadmaps
+ Gathers and maintains competitive intelligence and analyzes their prices, sales, and methods of operation in order to effectively position L3Harris within the market
+ Plans and coordinates business reviews, strategic planning exercises, resource planning, budget analysis, and opportunity mapping. Coordinates competitive market intelligence to understand execution strategies of prime contractors and competitors.
+ Lead and support proposal efforts for new product development
+ Develop and document win strategies and pursuit campaigns
+ Owns and continues to establish capture process effectiveness measures and instills a winning culture within Business Development and Program Management capture functions, increasing our ability to bid
+ Determines price-to-win for major program initiatives
+ Builds the L3Harris brand through performance, customer focus, thought leadership, ethical business practices, and integrity - deliver on customer focused, business aligned commitments
+ Provides guidance and coaching to other employees on the team
+ Travel 50% time
+ Other duties as assigned
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 12 years of engineering, business development or related experience, OR Graduate Degree with minimum of 10 years prior relevant experience. In lieu of degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience
+ 10 Years experience in strategy development, business development, or program management with a focus in Aerospace and Defense industry.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship
+ Minimum 5 years experience developing FAR based proposals
Preferred Additional Skills:
+ High level of business/financial acumen; global business acumen in relevant technology markets with broad knowledge of changing global markets.
+ Ability to generate innovative insights from analysis, communicates results effectively, and work with business partners in developing and implementing new methodologies and analysis to drive actionable results.
+ Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint
+ Experience and understanding of new business capture processes, methods and techniques
+ Desired background in munitions technologies
