The Opportunity with Viridis

We are adding a Business Development Leader to our growing team in the Northwest.  This role will support existing regional teams pursuit of EaaS opportunities while independently identifying, qualifying, and managing the Development of energy assets toward ownership independently.  Additionally, some responsibilities you will have include:

Business Management

Develops and executes strategic and tactical business development plans. Positions Viridis/McKinstry’s brand within identified vertical/geographical markets. Focus and responsible as an Energy Asset Developer and ownership of same assets, while promoting all corporate offerings externally and internally. Market research necessary for identification of new Development opportunities and for application of specific Developments in progress, including trends, opportunities, and challenges. Oversight/management of feasibility studies necessary to determine Development viability for regions, codes, and economics. Lead and manage due diligence on all aspects of the Development process, including entitlement, partnerships, environmental impact, and financial and technical feasibility. Lead and manage creation of pro forma models to assess Development’s viability and ROI for all participants. Obtain the necessary financing, including that from investors, grants, banks, or other sources. Build and maintain relationships within industry leaders, associations, organizations and government entities at local, state and national levels. Supports sales policies and monitors compliance for developments position is responsible for and for resources assigned. Representation of all Developments, whether in support of or directly managing, to client or outside partner’s leadership. Representation of all Developments, whether in support of or directly managing, to necessary investor(s) and lending communities. Oversight, or direct delivery of, ownership, financial, technical, construction, and operational contract formation and negotiation. Participates in monitoring and managing key business metrics for business as a whole and Development projects position is supporting or leading. Reports identified potential business risk elements and participates in mitigation efforts. 

Team Management

Manages the internal support and consulting processes, to include qualification of Development opportunities with existing teams. Includes lead generation, sales, proposal creation and customer service delivery.   Select, train, coach and manage other Development staff, building a successful and fulfilled team. Oversees relationships with clients to ensure client satisfaction. Causes and leads the collaboration across all teams within McKinstry, ensuring understanding and management of investment, optimum efficiency, and ideal outcomes.

Strategic mindset:  proven ability to innovate, strategize, and mitigate foreseen challenges proactively. Exceptional communication skills: demonstrates the ability to navigate and coordinate multiple internal groups and stakeholders, external client decision-making paths and people, and reconcile both for a successful outcome (strong collaborator, uniter) Entrepreneurial desire:  candidate thrives in potential “unknowns” and values opportunities to “create something from nothing.”  Must be accustomed to navigating opaque scenarios.  

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

Must have demonstrated proficiency for all the responsibilities of a Business Development Manager. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred. Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering, construction management or equivalent business experience required. Experience in financial/performance contracting required. Ten (10) years of experience managing sales teams required. Ten (10) years of experience in a consultative selling role required. Ability and willingness to travel regionally.

The pay range for this position is $126,900 - $217,200 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
