Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Sales, Access Control - Enterprise the Business Development Manager Access Control, Federal holds a key position to grow the adoption of the Motorola access control portfolio within the federal government market.  This role requires a dynamic individual who is knowledgeable and passionate about Access Control and is highly customer focused and efficient. The core objective of this position is to create and win access control projects and customers within the Federal Government space, supporting and working alongside MSI’s Fed-Gov teams.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Maintain and grow an operational and security mindset in relation to security in the Fed Gov space

Work extremely well with other sales professionals within the VS&A organization 

Work with and educate North American Sales Team members on how to engage with the Federal Government  vertical effectively and with maximum results

Develop and maintain deep, meaningful relationships within the Federal Government vertical that are relevant to security and access control and have the possibility of generating access control opportunities for Motorola Solutions

Work with the Fed-Gov team to identify key Government based partners and end-users

Equip the Fed-Gov team with resources to quickly and effectively engage contacts in a manner that will result in Motorola Solutions revenue growth

Identify “product gaps” that need to be addressed by Product Management in order to gain greater exposure/standardization in the Fed-Gov space.

Manage business unit resource - demo equipment, marketing budgets, travel budgets, or any other resources the company allocates

Develop standardized Fed-Gov vertical market presentations and sales tools for use by the Fed-Gov team to discuss our Access Control offerings

Compile data on competitive products and pricing and report it back to head office, maintain working knowledge of competitive offerings

Work closely with APL [approved product listing] to ensure the Motorola access control offerings maintain the most current standards

Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in Access Control, previous Federal Government sales is required

Strong technical acumen and ability to speak towards our products and solutions

Proven record of achievement in delivering results and developing collaborative relationships

Strong understanding of our go-to-market strategy and sales philosophy is required

Time management skills are required, and candidates must have the ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex, fast-paced environment

Ability to travel up throughout North America, as needed

Territory:

The Access Specialist - Fed-Gov will have the responsibility to cover the Federal Government market throughout  North America

Preference for candidates located within Maryland or Virginia and be able to cover the DC metropolitan area

Frequent travel (approximately 60% by air and car) will be required during the execution of the duties of the role
