What You Will Do/Your Tasks and Responsibilities:
Strategic Sales Strategy: Lead and execute a forward-thinking sales strategy tailored for the Marine sector in Singapore. Your mission will be to enhance market access, boost market share, and participate in key tenders and projects, all while building local capabilities within the maritime industry.
Business Development Leadership: Drive new business opportunities and fuel growth for our Marine division in this dynamic region. Your strategic vision will be essential in identifying and cultivating opportunities that align with our long-term goals. This includes:
Market Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to identify potential business opportunities and trends within the Marine sector. Analyze data to forecast market potential and make informed business decisions. Partnership Development: Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with key stakeholders in the maritime industry – shipowners, operators, and regulatory bodies – and leverage these relationships to create new business opportunities. Innovation and Expansion: Explore and develop innovative solutions and services that meet the evolving needs of the maritime market. Identify key areas for business expansion and growth. New Client Acquisition: Utilize your resources to acquire new maritime clients, transforming leads into valuable revenue streams within the marine industry. This includes:
Prospecting and Outreach: Identify and target potential clients through research and proactive outreach. Build a strong pipeline of prospects and initiate contact to introduce our marine services. Customized Solutions: Tailor proposals and solutions to address the unique needs and pain points of potential clients. Highlight the value and benefits of our services to win new business. Negotiation and Closing: Lead negotiations with prospective clients, ensuring mutually beneficial terms and agreements. Close deals efficiently and build long-term relationships with new clients. Key Account Management: Strategically manage key marine accounts, maintaining constant engagement and crafting tailored action plans to meet diverse client needs within the maritime sector. This includes:
Strategic Account Planning: Create and execute strategic account plans that align with both client objectives and company goals. Monitor account performance and implement actions to achieve revenue targets and growth. Client Retention and Growth: Focus on retaining existing clients by consistently delivering value and exploring opportunities for account expansion and cross-selling additional services. Client Relationship Mastery: Build and nurture strong relationships with maritime clients, industry partners, and prospects. Your ability to gather critical market intelligence, attract new clients, and expand existing portfolios will be pivotal in achieving ambitious sales revenue and financial targets. Commercial Planning Excellence: Develop and implement a comprehensive commercial plan to proactively manage and guide marine sales activities, ensuring alignment with our strategic objectives.
Commercial Operations Oversight: Oversee the seamless execution of marine-related commercial operations, ensuring the preparation of accurate quotations, contract documentation, and invoice reconciliation tailored to maritime projects.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with regional, zone, and global Marine teams to support local business development initiatives and champion a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Stakeholder Engagement: Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Your analytical skills will enable you to propose innovative marine solutions and ensure prompt resolution of client requests and queries.
Deliver Presentations and Seminars: Take the lead in planning, organizing, and delivering impactful presentations and technical seminars focused on marine industry trends and technologies.
Requirements:
Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Engineering or equivalent with 5-8 years working experience in Marine and Offshore related markets, such as classification societies. Experience in business development role will be added advantage. Knowledge of testing, inspection and certification within the Marine & Offshore related markets will be added advantage. Strong contacts with Marine stakeholders will be added advantage Proficient in sales techniques, including prospecting, lead generation, and closing deals. Strong track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets. Strong interpersonal, communication, networking and negotiation skills Analytical thinking to assess market trends, competitor activities, and performance metrics to inform decision-making. In-depth knowledge of the industry, market trends, and competitive landscape to make informed business decisions. Familiarity with relevant technologies and tools such as CRM systems, to streamline business development processes.
