You enjoy working with others, are results-driven, and seek various opportunities to develop personally and professionally. **The Role** Responsibilities include leading the growth of Hyatt’s resort brands, with a special focus on the Hyatt Inclusive Collection (HIC). You will develop and manage new business opportunities through both existing and new retail clients and direct consumer initiatives. This role is pivotal in expanding Hyatt’s presence across the Western Canada region (BC, AB) and creating strategic partnerships with key industry players, including travel advisors, consortia, tour operators’ sales team, and OTAs. This position is based preferably in Vancouver and will be responsible for the territory of Western Canada - BC, AB, The BDM will be responsible for maximizing all sales opportunities, proactively create new opportunities and achieve sales targets. A strong focus will be on developing and managing relationships with travel advisors and industry partners, working with them on business growth opportunities beneficial to all parties. Core Responsibilities: 1. Maximize Sales Growth & Brand Awareness: + Drive sales and awareness for Hyatt’s LAC region, with a dedicated focus on Hyatt Inclusive Collection reach in the market. + Lead the creation and execution of tailored annual business development plans to grow revenue across individual travel agencies, Host agencies, Home Base advisors, consortia, tour operator call centers, and partner sales teams within Western Canada. 2. Relationship Management & Networking: + Build and nurture strong relationships with travel advisors, Home Base advisors, agencies, host agencies, consortia, tour operators sales team, OTAs, and key distribution partners. + Proactively seek new business opportunities to create long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships. 3. Sales Strategy & Execution: + Provide strategic direction for business growth, contributing to Hyatt’s regional goals by identifying and capitalizing on emerging trends and market opportunities. + Use tools such as Salesforce to track and optimize sales performance and territory growth. 4. Educational Leadership: + Develop and expand the Confidant Collective certification program within your region, hosting webinars, classroom sessions, and educational events to engage and educate travel professionals. + Lead and organize familiarization trips, training sessions, and key events to enhance relationships and promote Hyatt properties. + Webinars to Educate the Travel Industry: Organize and host webinars specifically designed to educate travel advisors and industry professionals about Hyatt’s LAC with special focus on HIC brands, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge to sell and promote these properties effectively. 5. Industry Representation: + Actively participate in industry events, such as trade shows, educational seminars, and destination conferences, to represent Hyatt and engage with partners. + Provide competitive analysis and market insights to ensure Hyatt’s position as a leader in the market. 6. Reporting & Accountability: + Ensure timely and accurate sales reporting, providing updates on key metrics to the Senior Director of Sales. + Regularly evaluate performance, adjust strategies as needed, and meet/exceed financial targets. **Qualifications:** **Experience Required:** + Bachelor’s Degree. + 5 years of relevant work experience in sales, preferably within the Canadian market. **Experience Preferred:** + Excellent presentation skills (written and verbal) with strong listening abilities. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). + Experience with Salesforce. + Ability to travel 80% of the time, both domestically and internationally. + Valid Canadian Passport and driver’s license. + Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess ROI and present clear business cases. + In-depth knowledge of the retail and wholesale travel industry. + Strong knowledge of the Western Canadian market and established relationships with key travel partners. + Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. + Creative problem-solving and proven sales skills. + Established relationships with travel advisors, TTOOs, and tourist boards (a plus). + Team-oriented, willing to collaborate and assist colleagues with job-related tasks, including events, trade shows, and educational initiatives. + Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic work environment. + Strong results-driven mindset and focus on achieving targets. + Any professional certifications related to sales or the travel industry. + Proven experience in sales or business development within the hospitality, travel, or tourism industry, ideally with a focus on resorts or leisure travel. + Experience utilizing sales platforms (e.g., Salesforce) to track and analyze sales performance. + Team Player, willing to assist Sales team colleagues with job related responsibilities, including events, shows, education. + Possess flexibility and adaptability skills The position responsibilities outlined above are in no way to be construed as all encompassing.
