About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 09 Global Intelligence & Analytics (GIA) The Role: Business Development Manager The Location: Tokyo, Japan The Team: You will be part of the fast growing, energetic APAC GIA Team. The team of 25 is located across 7 offices and focused on double digit growth across the region, through new client acquisition. The Impact: More than 90% of the global trade is transported by sea and hence understanding the Maritime industry is key for many of our clients that trade internationally. As our name suggests, the GIA business line provides our clients with data and solutions that helps them make critical business decision in the fast-changing global trade environment. Develop yourself as a sales expert in the industry. Meet up key decision makers in the industry that drive critical decision in global trade. Responsibilities: • Hunt for new logos and find up/cross-selling opportunities within existing contracts with clients in Japan. Many of them are key companies supporting the growth of the East Asian economy. • Work with the account manager team by conducting white space analysis together to identify and prospect for opportunities in existing business relationship • Use topical sales technique to understand client’s need and requirement, and rigorously qualify target lists for prioritization • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders (Relationship and New business development, Product and Business Leadership) to cultivate trusting relationships with key client base • Keep all these activities recorded in an accurate and timely manner on the company’s CRM system What We’re Looking For: Basic Qualifications: - A Business Development professional that has a strong questioning and positive influencing skills - Fluent in Japanese and English - Well organized and communicate in a clear and easy-to-understand manner - Tenacious, curious, and receptive to new ideas - A team player – we are not looking for a lone wolf - Experience working with varies IT and analytical tools (e.g. Excel, Power BI etc) Preferred Qualifications: - A bachelor’s degree - Prior experience working in the Shipping / Maritime / Trading / Logistic industry / Macro Economics - Prior experience with selling licensed solutions (over USD$100K) in the B2B world About Company Statement: S&P Global Market Intelligence At S&P Global Market Intelligence, we know that not all information is important—some of it is vital.
