Business Development Manager

Job Description The Business Development Manager is accountable for establishing strategic partnerships and cultivating relationships with key industry stakeholders, national government agencies, and selected distribution utilities. Additionally, they are responsible for advancing the network team’s legislative agenda while leading external engagements focused on initiatives such as Telco as Critical Infrastructure, Ease of Doing Business, National Tower Masterplanning, and IBS & Fiber Neutral Host Accreditation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.STRATEGIC GUIDANCE AND PLANNING:

Develop and execute strategic work plans and programs to support the company’s legislative agenda and priorities.

Facilitate the establishment of standards and collaborative practices among industry partners to optimize capital and operational efficiencies, ease of doing business, and ensure seamless access to properties with Globe infrastructure.

Consolidate the escalated recurring regulatory policy issues raised by internal and external stakeholders. Process and assess which issues can be resolved through legislative efforts or tactical means. Endorse the issues that can be resolved at the local level to the respective territories for handling and addressing those that require legislative efforts.

Conduct thorough research and benchmarking of successful telecommunications-related advocacy campaigns and initiatives on a global scale. Gather information on the strategies, approaches, and key success factors of these initiatives in order to gain valuable insights for our own advocacy efforts.

Study and develop a deep understanding of the policies and legislation related to telecommunications and navigate the management of government and distribution utilities to help achieve Globe’s business objectives.

Ensure the completion of the Joint Pole Agreement with select distribution utili and other special agreements related to our priority programs and initiatives. Contract creation will be managed by the BDMs, while operationalization will be handled by Shared Services once the contract is signed.

2. REGULATORY AND ADVOCACY:

Advocate for legislation that supports efficient business processes and recognition of telecommunications as critical infrastructure, similar to power and water.

Engage and actively participate in government-led or industry-led collaborations  to streamline processes affecting Globe and its partners’ business operations and access. (i.e Private Sector Advisory Council/Connectivity Plan  Task Force, National Tower Masterplanning)

Ensure that Network Technical Group’s critical interests and priorities are integrated into Globe's overall legislative agenda. Lead the drafting of position papers and related documentation for this purpose.

3. STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT

Develop and maintain strong business relationships with assigned national government agencies and distribution utilities' working levels and key decision makers. Cultivate and sustain productive working relationships with the goal of achieving Globe's best-in-industry NPS scores and securing support for Globe's advocacies, (i.e shared infrastructure model and zero IBS lease)

Collaborate with our internal teams and external partners to create  and execute a comprehensive communication and public relations strategy. This strategy should encompass plans for executing events and activities that align with and support the initiatives we advocate for.

4. OTHERS

Ensures that his/her individual development plan is updated, supported by compliance to scheduled coaching sessions and completion of prescribed trainings.

Use, maintenance and timely updating of designated systems and databases (Call plan, work plans) that enable availability of relevant information to stakeholders

Adherence to agreed Ways of Working.

Completion of assigned special projects of SPP1

Adopt a techco mindset, embrace Globe’s Digital for all mantra and leverage the Globe group’s portfolio to further increase value with business partners

HIRING REQUIREMENTS:

Work Experience

At least 2 years of work experience in a telco company or in similar industries in the areas of Technical, Sales & Marketing, or Business Development

MBA is a plus

Level of Knowledge

Graduate of Management Engineering, Management, Business Economics, Business Administration and Accountancy or other business-related courses

Master Degree preferred but not required

Expert in Business Process Management

Expert in Operations Management

Expert in Customer Relationship Management

Working Knowledge in Project Management
