The Opportunity

Abbott Rapid Diagnostics are recruiting a Business Development Manager to support its business in Central/North UK & Scotland, within the Cardiometabolic & Informatics business unit.

What You’ll Do

As a Business Development Manager you will be responsible for the management, development and growth of regional key corporate and NHS Cardiometabolic accounts defined by the UK segmentation and targeting for high value and high potential growth. Also the generation of new business via local market access initiatives in both the public and private sectors. Working closely with the UK Market Access manager this hybrid role will work with ICS’s and ICB’s to develop new patient pathways and funding sources, realising national MA initiatives on a local basis. You will also identify new revenue channels in the NHS and private sectors in line with country strategy and ensure the business retains all existing high value prioritised accounts through commercial excellence and strong account management.

This is a field based role, 50-60% travelling across UK is anticipated

The territory would be: East Anglia, East Midlands, North West, North East and Scotland

Ideal candidate’s location: Central (East),  UK

Required Qualifications/Profile

Preferred educational background: Degree or higher in Business, Biological Science or related fieldExperience in POC or medical devices (preferably diagnostics)Business to business sales experience and knowledge of the variable buying chains in large organisationsCompetent and established sales person with strong track record of successGood networking and relationship building skills.Excellent negotiation skills.Fluent in building / constructing compelling business cases including return on investment analysis, tender writing and business proposals.Understanding of the UK healthcare system, relevant funding routes and patient pathways
