Job Overview

The Business Development Manager will possess a hunter mentality to accomplish our ambitious mission of diversification through growth in non-coal markets by 2035.  To achieve our mission, the individual will be proactive in generating opportunities in new and existing markets, communicating with potential customers, and nurturing and closing deals.  This self-driven, eager individual will thrive on the success in our mission, openly sharing with and encouraging the organization.

Key Job Responsibilities Drives the development and execution of the regional growth strategy into non-coal markets, insuring alignment to the global growth and diversification strategies. Develops, strengthens, and manages key customer relationships. Researches and identifies new opportunities for company products and services. Initiates customer engagement on new opportunities, then nurtures these opportunities through the cycle. Engages with global business development and product teams to provide opportunity information to align on solution selection or product development requirements. Pursues opportunities through industry associations and educational institution engagements to raise awareness of the company, brand, and products. Qualifications/Requirements Education required – The individual possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in a field related to our business (Engineering, Product Management, Business, Operations).  An MBA would be an advantage. Experience required – 15 years’ experience of customer facing or similar in a mining related business. Travel requirements – A minimum of 50% regional travel will be required.  Occasional international travel may be required.  Reasons for travel include: Strategic meetings with customers at senior levels at mines and at senior levels in the different customer offices. Attending regional and global strategy meetings. Attending tradeshows and conferences. Developing and fostering customer relations at all levels. Preferred Skills Strong, demonstrated leader in business development. Business acumen. Financial acumen. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with peers, managers, and subordinates. Fluent in English, both verbally and written.  Second language that is used in region is a plus.
