The Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in driving sales of our laser welders, engravers, and related equipment. This position emphasizes building strong customer relationships, leveraging technical knowledge, and collaborating closely with service technicians to ensure customer satisfaction and success. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated sales professional who is passionate about the jewelry industry and eager to lead a team in expanding our market presence. This role requires consistent travel, with the expectation being that 25% of the time will be spent on the road between tradeshows, customer visits, and new customer prospecting.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Market Development: Understand, organize, and maintain long-standing customer relationships through an understanding of our the relationship history and how our products and services can support their individual business plans. Identify and pursue new business opportunities in major jewelry markets through regular travel and networking.Participate in trade shows and industry events to showcase products and build brand awareness Customer Relationship Management: Learn and leverage existing customer relationships to support the maintenance, expansion, and evolution of jewelry businesses through new equipment purchases. Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective customers in various sectors of the jewelry industry.Understand customer needs and provide tailored solutions that enhance their operations and productivity. Technical Aptitude: Develop a deep understanding of our expansive equipment assortment, including each product’s unique applications and benefits.Conduct product demonstrations and provide training/technical support to customers as needed. Collaboration with Service Technicians: Partner with service technicians to ensure seamless installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment.Facilitate communication between customers and service teams to address inquiries and resolve issues promptly.Contribute to strategic planning and execution of sales initiatives to achieve team and company objectives. Brand Representation: Understand, embody, and extend both B&D and Stuller’s brand values and mission in all customer interactions.Assist in the development of marketing strategies to penetrate new and expanding markets.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience in a similar field preferred.Proven sales experience, preferably in equipment sales or the jewelry industry.Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand complex machinery and software.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on customer service.Self-motivated with a strong ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively.Willingness to travel frequently for customer visits, trade shows, and market research.B&D Sales Corporation: A Stuller Company
