We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to support our growth and customer acquisition goals in the utilities sector. This role is integral to positioning our company as a leader in the utilities market by driving revenue growth and fostering strong customer relationships. The ideal candidate will be innovative, competitive, and passionate about expanding our business in this essential industry.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a strategic business plan to expand the company's customer base within the utilities sector and ensure a robust market presence. Achieve sales targets and drive business growth through proactive lead generation and effective sales management. Create and execute a tailored marketing and sales strategy for the utilities sector, focusing on rapid expansion and business development. Identify new business opportunities, including new projects and ongoing initiatives, and follow up to drive continued engagement. Lead the entire sales process from prospecting, appointment setting, and presenting the company’s services to preparing proposals, negotiating contracts, and ensuring smooth handover to the operations team. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and regulatory authorities within the utilities sector. Develop and maintain an efficient system for market intelligence and industry insights, ensuring up-to-date knowledge of market trends and competitor activity. Track and report all business opportunities, proposals, and progress in the CRM tool (e.g., AWI). Collaborate with the technical team to create comprehensive technical and commercial proposals in response to tenders. Work closely with regional teams, technical centers, and global business units to ensure effective support and alignment across the organization. Stay informed of new and existing legislation, regulations, and industry standards that could impact business development and growth. Lead marketing initiatives within the utilities sector, including organizing and attending events, fairs, and workshops to increase brand visibility and business opportunities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering with at least ten (10) years proven track record in sales or business development covering Manila Water, Maynilad and Water District accounts, Strong commercial mindset with a deep understanding of the utilities sector and market dynamics. Proven success in winning contracts and driving business growth within the utilities or related sectors. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated success in managing the sales process from lead generation to deal closure. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and drive results. Proficient in office software (e.g., MS Office, PowerPoint, MS Project). Fluent in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills. Self-motivated and highly sales-oriented with a passion for achieving targets and business development.
