Business Development Manager - Home & Personal Care (HPC)

Job Summary

The Home and Personal Care (HPC) team strives to be the preferred partner of our customers, delivering high-value, sustainable, and consumer relevant solutions for the Home, Personal, and Industrial Care Markets.  We now have a key vacancy for a Business Development Manager to expand the development of industrial applications within HPC.  

Primary Duties: 


•    Develop market insights and understanding of customer and consumer needs
•    Develop new business areas, sales markets and products. 
•    Provide advice on product development, distribution and promotion strategies. 
•    Ensure that the developing product pipeline is aligned and consistent with consumer, customer and market insights
•    Create business plans and strategies highlighting business risks and opportunities.
•    Execute the new product sales and revenue generation  
•    Target pricing of new solutions
•    Carry out monitoring and analysis of competitors and competitive solutions
•    Build relationships with key internal and external partners
•    Provide analysis of value in use across value chain adoption to understand and provide targeted solutions for customers (e.g. in packaging or textile auxiliaries)
•    Ability to carry out sales across the value chain from brand owners, converters and intermediate manufacturers to other raw material ingredient providers – focused on solution and value sales
•    Flexibility to leverage learnings across markets to build validation, entry and product offtake strategies
•    Mindset to build win-win solutions to build sustainable growth 
•    Work with and through application development teams, R&D and functional teams to be successful


Qualifications
 
•    Academic degree in a (bio)chemical, polymer or material science discipline. 
•    Extensive experience gained within a global B2B environment with a proven ability to build new market sales
•    Demonstrable track record of success within a global, matrix organisation environment
•    Proven experience in leading strategic and business planning with sound evidence of customer and consumer insight-led strategy development and implementation
•    Leadership qualities in impacting, contributing and challenging business strategy 
•    Excellent project management skills and a strong communicator
•    Financial skills, P&L understanding 
•    Self-motivated
•    Flexible and pragmatic
•    Strong commercial acumen
•    Strong sense of urgency and achievement 
•    Resilient and able to respond under pressure 
•    Ability to influence 
•    Solid analytical skills 
•    Entrepreneurial way of thinking
