Business Development Manager II – West Region
As a global leader in consulting, engineering, and commissioning services, we specialize in highly technical buildings and the systems that bring them to life. We are currently seeking a Business Development Manager for the West region to collaborate with our west region offices. This is an exciting opportunity to identify opportunities, developing relationships, and securing profitable work for five (5) offices (Sacramento, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego) in the West region.
In this critical role, you will support seller doers in the firm. He or she is part of a multiperson team that is responsible for covering opportunities and outreach within both delineated geographic markets as well as Practice Areas. The position supports the overall growth and development goals of the firm and works closely with all Principals to support the development of various markets as well as individual client support and development as desired by the Business Unit Leadership. This person also creates business strategies to facilitate company growth and identifies and helps to develop strategic relationships with partners or potential customers. Other responsibilities include aiding in the analyzing, planning, research, and development of geographic or practice are objectives and strategic plans in order to achieve business opportunities, growth, and financial profitability.
Job Responsibilities
As a Business Development Manager for the West Region, you will provide Client development for New and Existing clients, Business Planning, and Leadership.
Essential Duties and Tasks:
Client Development- New Clients
Establish relationships with new firms. Expand relationships within firms Syska has relationship with. Assist and or present Syska messaging at new firms to develop new clients. Develop practice area strategies to win new clients. Develop geographic area strategies to win new clients. Expand contacts through attendance at trade shows and local industry events. Expand contacts through committee leadership of local industry organizations. Assist Seller Doers with winning presentation slots at industry events.Client Development- Existing Clients
Plan and lead existing client account meetings with seller doers. Partners with seller doers to expand local accounts into national accounts. Assist with national account program execution.Business Planning
Lead regional lead and opportunity reviews. Lead office bookings forecasting. Participate in West region business planningLeadership
Lead business development, in partnership with Practice Area Directors (PADs). Leading generation of business plans for new offices and practice areas. Lead generation of new go to market strategies and contracting methodologies. Coach seller doers to improve their business development skillsKnowledge & Skills
The ideal candidate will possess the necessary leadership skills to oversee all efforts for clients, demonstrating an understanding of owner / client big picture business development strategies and as well as the ability to foresee challenges. To succeed in this role, your marketing expertise must be complemented by self-motivation, relationship building skills, effective communication skills, and the ability to effectively work in a fast–paced environment.
