Business Development Manager
We currently seek a high-caliber Irrigation Water Market Business Development Manager for a direct hire basis within our client’s team of experienced professionals.  

Our client is an American-based nanobubble technology company with a mission to unlock the full potential of nanobubbles to enhance and protect water, food, and natural resources. Nanobubbles are neutrally buoyant, produce oxidants, are electrochemically active, and reduce surface tension. These characteristics enable nanobubbles to replace inefficient, energy intensive gas transfer equipment and harmful chemical oxidants and surfactants with a single, energy-efficient, chemical-free solution. 

About the Role:
Our client is currently seeking an Irrigation Water Market Business Development Manager to focus on developing the local market and to build strong relationships. The BDM-IW market will report directly to the IW Vertical Leader.


Essential Functions: Develop new business in the fruit, vegetable and ornamental agriculture and horticulture market. Directly interface with local Consultants, Growers and Integrators/Constructors to bid and win large irrigation projects. Develop list of key Global Accounts and coordinate global actions with top 15 key accounts.  Coordinate bids and proposals with the local/regional team to ensure that we form relationships with key decision makers. Develop winning proposals for projects in the sales pipeline and use consultative selling best practices to close deals. Work with the Marketing team to leverage existing case studies and publications to develop new applications and customers and develop new case studies by providing the Marketing team with quantifiable data from successful installations and projects. Liaison with regional sales team and IW vertical leader to ensure timely response to leads/inquiries. Ensure that deal pipeline and project status is regularly updated in our client’s CRM tool (Hubspot). Meet and exceed annual sales and growth targets.
Qualifications: 10+ years’ experience in agriculture / horticulture with at least 5+ years’ experience in selling products and solutions to both indoor and outdoor agriculture and horticulture markets (sales and marketing experience preferred). Strong relationships with growers, irrigation equipment distributors, greenhouse builders/constructors and consultants in the Netherlands. Proven experience at selling to global key accounts and coordinating proposals/bids with the global sales organization. Excellent listening and communication skills Bilingual (can speak, read and write both English and Spanish) preferred. Fundamental knowledge of agronomy, soil morphology and plant physiology would be a plus.
Educational Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree, major in agronomy/agricultural sciences, biology, plant physiology, chemistry or plant sciences Post-graduate sales training would be considered as a plus.
